Cowboys looking at Shaun Suisham and Dave Raymer
Two ex redskin kickers are coming in to valley ranch today according to the Dallas News.com website. Raymer has not attempted a field goal this year but Shuisham on the other hand is 18 of 21. I know about the chip shot he missed against the saints and he also missed one against us that would of put us two scores down when we played but i say lets bring the guys in. Hide Folk on IR and lets get someone in here we can count on. 18 of 21 sounds a lot better to me than what we have now. In a playoff push you have to be able to count on your kicker.
What about you guys? Any kickers out there you'd like to see come in to the ranch? I wonder if Morten Anderson could still kick a 45 yard field goal?

I would think there would be guys we have never heard of from college
that have been decent kickers. Guys that graduated last year and are maybe doing internships now, shoot idk haha. Theres got to be more than 30 capable kickers in the united states.
Shuisham at least missed when he was on the hashmark- folk was dead on. Its sad when it comes down to that haha

Not sure if i want a guy who has been selling insurance for the past year to be my kicker.....
but heck, i dont want a guy who clanks a 24 yarder in the clutch either. Thats whats so maddening for me about folk. He has been so clucth when we needed him until this year, He’s just falling apart. I can’t help but think the combination of the hip surgery and losing the man he called his best holder ever has a lot to do with his sturggles. I’m not ready to give up on him all together but for this season i am.

Like Jimmy Johnson said yesterday.
Lynn Elliot told him he had lost his confidence. They had a new kicker the next day. Surely their are guys out there that can make kicks more consistantly from the 30 or shorter. Give Buehler the chance at the longer ones.
What are you watching?
Folk may be good when he’s on, but right now he’s probably the worst kicker on any NFL roster…and most big time college rosters too. Suisham had two bad games, Folk has had a bad season.
Terry, for this season for this year Folk is a headcase, there is almost no way Folk of 07-08 is coming back this year.
Are you going to say that you want the liability that folk presents is too great of a risk.
Kickers are more suspect to being headcases than other positions. Suisham could have the mental edge because it the 1st game is going to be against the team that cut him. It is an opportunity to redeem himself and keep a job and keep his employment alive for next year even if it is not with dallas.
Ignore the Mainstream Media, EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!
I'm saying Suisham and Raymer present the same type of liability
there is a reason they are both unemployed as kickers in the NFL right now.
In Romo we Trust
So by that logic
Dallas should just give up on replacing a guy who has lost his confidence? Because I think league rules say you can only hire guys who are unemployed…
FREE THE OGLETREE!!!
There must be a couple of UFL kickers hanging around somewhere...

honestly
we just need a guy that can make everything from 0-40 and maybe give us a 75% chance on 40-45. That would be a significant upgrade over Folk right now
kickers
Folk has defanitley lost his mental edge and that is the worst. If we keep him he could cost us a home playoff advantage. Or worse. He needs a rest, lets find someone who can kick a feild goal under pressure , of at least 40 yards in.
Wildman
It's not mental with Folk, it's a mechanical issue
My boss’ son kicks for a div 1-AA college and he told me that Folk isn’t keeping his foot straight when making contact wit the ball which is causing the ball to spray.
He needs to work on that issue more and he’ll be fine.
In Romo we Trust
Which would make sense given the surgery
But then I am sure the inconsistency would then mess with his head, throwing off other mechanics and his confidence.
"Where's Woody? - We need another Darren Woodson
The problem is
he is working on that issue in games, costing points week in and week out

Impact of a poor kicker is considerable on a team's psyche
It affects Offensive playcalling, down and distance considerations. All because you’re afraid a failure to convert could lead to no points and a field position disadvantage. That in turn, affects the D.
Agree Folk is toast. If he had hit the Gimme and missed the 43 ydr, I might justify keeping him, but his head is so screwed up he’s just not reliable. Hanging on to him in the hopes he can fight through it or we’re afraid he’ll become a top tier kicker again for someone else is the same psychology that causes why investors to extend losses in the market. It’s a trap – I’ve put too much in this to walk away now. When in fact, all your guaranteeing is continued losses.
Always be more than you appear and never appear to be more than you are
I don't like either guy...
Dallas should have made a move earlier this season.
Since they didn’t they need to fix Folk and get him back on track.
After all, this si why they hired Joe D. Time for him to earn his money.
