Who do we root for this week?

If the eagles win, then the vikings will be forced to play competitively against the Giants. Is it reasonable to root for the hated eagles?

Here are the playoff rules:

As many of you know, there's still the possibility of three teams in the NFC East ending up with 10-6 records. If something wild like that happens, here's the tie-breaker rules:

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs).

2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.

3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.

4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

Assuming we beat the Redskins (which is assuming a lot)...

then it would definitely be best for the Eagles to win. That would force Minny to play hard against the Giants, and plus, we wouldn’t gain anything from the Eagles losing since it would still come down to week 17.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Not really assuming alot

Skins are terrible.

So I had to establish the rules and regulations of the game...85!

Well to assume the outcome of any game in my opinion

is assuming a lot. Too many things can influence how a game goes.

Fair enough I guess

But last week they were terrible

and although we played our worst game of the year against them, they still didn’t have thee talent to beat us. Cant see us losing.

So I had to establish the rules and regulations of the game...85!

If Minny loses out

and we win out….we get the No. 2 seed unless Arizona wins out as well. Then they get the No. 2 seed

"We have to find a way to play better, there's no doubt. Overall. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody. Offense, defense, pitching -- we have to find a way to play better. The reality of this is, coming here to Pittsburgh and being swept -- personally, I feel embarrassed." -- Carlos Beltran

Philly game doesn't matter if we win out

(which I think we will). Most importantly hope for losses from NYG, GB, Cards and Minny.

I can't believe we can actually get a first round bye

It’s a long shot, obviously, but that’d be amazing.

I’ll be pulling hard for Carolina against New York. They looked great against Minnesota, so it might not be that far fetched. I really hope Denver crushes Philly, and it wouldn’t hurt for GB and Minnesota to lose.

Honestly, as long as NY loses, I’m good. Assuming we win, that will put them out of the running for good and clinch a play off spot for us. A bye or home play off game would be nice, but that’s all extra for me.

Epic Fail since 1985

God it'd be great if Tony did something like that again

And then came out and dominated in the playoffs and led us to victory. Big ol’ finger to the media.

Doubt he will, but oh well

If you play with the Yahoo playoff simulator…

…there are a ton of playoff possibilities that can happen. Many of those scenarios pit the Cowboys against the Eagles in back to back games which I would not like to see at all.

One set-up actually gives the Cowboys a first round bye which would be great. Another pits them against the Giants in the first round which I would love (it still burns me that they swept so it would be nice to shatter them with a playoff win).

The craziest scenario has Dallas with a first round bye if they beat Philly in the final week but out of the playoffs completely if they lose.

I’ve been saying for weeks now that 10-6 will not get it done this year and I’m now more convinced of that than ever. Dallas will need to reach 11 wins to get in which is fine since I’d rather them head into the tournament on a winning streak.

The 2009 Dallas Cowboys: Talk to me in December.
The NFC East has won 11 Super Bowls; oddly none of those have come courtesy of the Eagles.

Giants have Carolina and Minnesota

if the Eagles beat Denver, their chances of winning both games is not that great. If they lose one, we only need to win 1 of the last 2.

its impossible to beat any NFC team 3 times in one year.

If we meet the giants in the playoffs, we will win. Likewise, if we beat philly in the last week and see them again in the playoffs, well, it might not be good. I look forward to the 2nd seed option. It seems like a very possible chance.

its impossible to beat any NFC team 3 times in one year?????

Obviously probability is not your strongest subject. Normally when I read a declarative statement (it’s impossible blah blah blah) I quit reading because the statement is usually not valid, and yours definitely meets this criterion.

So if the Saints played anyone from their division in the playoffs (I know it won't happen)

they would automatically lose? No. It isn’t impossibe, just improbable. If your team is better, and the are coached better, you win all three. Period

Marine by trade, Cowboys fan by birth.

Dallas needs to win out, they will need help if they lose either of their last two games.

The peckers and gints have tie-breaker advantage and the peckers would have to lose the last two games to finish one game behind 10-6 and the gints would need to lose one game to finish 9-7, the minn game presents the best chance of this happening.

Ignore the Mainstream Media, EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!

Pretty much nothing has been decided in the nfc

aside from the saints as the 1 seed. Its crazy. And if the Vikings lose to the Bears next week….look at these week 17 matchups.

Giants vs Vikings
Packers vs Cardinals
Eagles vs Cowboys.

I am rooting for...

The eggies this weekend as much as it pains me to say so. I would like them to keep pressure on Minnesota so that Minnesota has to play hard against the Giants. Although I do believe the Cowboys will win out, I like that extra added sense of safeness that the Gmen have no shot at the playoffs.
