Did you know that this will be the 100th meeting between the Cowboys and Redskins?
The cold numbers say the Cowboys lead the series 58-39-2, although both playoff meetings were won by the Redskins.
The new 'Skins GM, Bruce Allen, grew up in the heat of the rivalry.
"The only one that's probably in that same class is Bears-Packers, just because it's forever," Bruce Allen said. "It's Cowboys and Indians. For so long, these franchises, every game is meaningful. It's a great rivalry for the NFL."
It's timely that the game comes less than two weeks after Allen was hired by the Redskins. After all, it was his father's scorn for stoic counterpart Tom Landry and the team from Texas that stoked a passion that still burns decades later.

Primero!!
Hopefully Dallas doesn’t choke like they did to GB and NY. Here’s to 10-5…
~Texas Massacre '09~
dude, congrats on your "almost troll" comment
I really must say, it’s amazing what passes as “fan comment” these days.
Yes, the Cowboys had one of their worst games against the Packers. But after playing perhaps their best game of the year last week, THAT is your comment???
I offer a revision: “I hope the Cowboys impressive defensive performance from last week, combined with Romo’s stellar game, is a trend that continues right through the first weekend in February…”
If you really feel the pessimism overwhelming you (as so many clearly do here), you could add something like: “If the inconsistency that has plagued this team shows it’s ugly head again Sunday night, we MIGHT give the skins enough hope to make it interesting…”
The fact is, the Cowboys ALSO played a horrible game against the skins a few weeks ago (well, at least offensively) … AND STILL WON!
Here’s hoping we win in convincing style, just like last week (24-3 in the 4th is convincing enough for me) … and continue to build on the positive momentum at the perfect time of year.
:)
Doomsday returns... Wade Phillips style.
i worry about this spot...i really do....
but the skins were so god-awful on monday night i think that maybe they have packed it in for the year….
any fan of the nfl (nevermind redskins fans) should have been embarrased by that debacle….
Kinda like last year in Philly?
That was a complete ‘we quit’ moment. The Cowboys folded like a bad lawn chair. This year’s team won’t. Brooking is here to save the day! (like Underdog!) Seriously, this team is not even close to the 2008 version. The true debacle for us was the Pitt/Baltimore games. We should have won both going away yet found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We’ll roll Sunday night and then, McScabb will feel the pain.
Actualy I think those dick$ gave the game away to the Giants....
therefore…I expect to actually show up this week, play their best and give us the opportunity to embarras them in their own stadium so they….
1) remeber it for the next 100 meetings
2) learn not to never ever again, give a game away to a division rival….
buncha loosers, starting with Snyder himself….low class bum. Daddy’s boy…..
I don't trust those Redskins.....
I gotta agree with ManTab…..they lost that game on purpose just to set us up! it’s a conspiracy I tell ya! ;-)
To win nearly 60% of the time
against a storied franchise like the Redskins is pretty impressive. I bet the Cowboys’ record isn’t as good against the Giants or Eagles. But I guess the Cowboys padded those stats during the Snyder Era…hehehe
We own them all
Head to Head (incl. playoffs)
58.8% vs Redskins: 58-39-2 (0-2)
57.3% vs. Giants: 55-39-2 (0-1)
56.0% vs. Eagles: 56-44 (2-1)

I hate how we're 2-5 versus the NFC East in the playoffs.
but the regular season record is awesome. Must be why they hate us so much.
Well I'll be chiggered...
Good to see the Cowboys rule the NFC East, historically-speaking…
I'd like to see that Eagles one go up a notch in a week or so.
I saw a dog today. Have you seen a dog? You probably have. How was school? Was it fun? Did you get a lot of homework? Huh? Do you have any friends? Do you have a best friend? Does he have a big coat, too?

George Allen
was the biggest sleaze to ever slither an NFL sideline. His namesake son (the bigot politician) proved to be just as big a jerk as his old man, so Bruce can’t be much different. Sounds like a perfect match for Danny Snyder’s Redskins.
Keep doing what you been doing, keep getting what you been getting.
Bigot politician?
Sen. George Allen is part Jewish and of African descent. How can he be a bigot?
I do like how Bruce Allen says “Cowboys and Indians,” not “Cowboys and Native Americans.”
FYI, George Allen Sr was very tolerant of gay football players, considering the times. But maybe that made him a big sleaze.
Is anyone else disturbed that the Boy Blunder actually hired an accomplished GM? I can’t see Jerry ever doing that.
Message to Tony Romo, Marion Barber and Keith Brooking.....
Just read an interview with Tony Dungy, the guy says the Cowboys have no chance against the Redskins on Sunday night…..
Thank you, Dungy, now we just need to send the team to a charity event in Vegas for the holidays
then we’ll win 99-0, after which the scoreboard will refuse to show any more points.
Washington
has been remarkably quiet about this game. I’ve seen a couple of their games this year where they sucked, only to play alot better the next week. Will it happen again? If Dallas plays their game it won’t really matter.
I trully believe they giftwrapped that game to the Giants.....
Does that mean they wont show up on Sunday or will play the game of their lives???….I have no clue but it pisses me off how sad a performance that was against NY. Loosers
I hope Skins play their best game
of the year, and Cowboys stomp their butts.
Keep doing what you been doing, keep getting what you been getting.
The skins will show up to play
But the “new look” cowboys will be ready. This team was left for dead two weeks ago and they know all too well the “curse of december”. They will be ready to play and will show the skins that they don’t belong on the same field as the boys.
Seriously, I was as big a pessimist as anyone two weeks ago but how can that Saints victory not make you believe??!!
They need to get up on them early like they did against the Saints.
A 2-3 TD lead on the Redskins should easily be able to key the fat lady.
