There's never been a shortage of Cowboys fans looking for a reason to dump Flozell, who for all his immense physical abilities, sometimes comes off as having a head (and ears) filled with sawdust. Who, along with his multiple Pro Bowl appearances, is also the perennial league leader in false start penalties, which often seem to come at the worst possible moments, not that there is a good time for such a thing.
That being said, there's a perfectly good reason Jerry Jones keeps throwing money at the guy, that being that a sutiable replacement has never truely been available. Certainly Dallas could have found a left tackle who didn't jump as often, or someone who was better at handling a speed rush, but at the end of the day, guys who are 6' 8' and 340 pounds, and who posess actual talent, are very few and far between.
But with the way Free has been playing, I could very easily invision a scenario where Dallas allows Flo to go his own way after the season, and moves Doug over to the left side, where I've heard he's a more natural fit.
Am I blowing smoke here? Just hoping that Dallas might have accidentally lucked into a pretty good offensive lineman, someone who can hold down that very improtant blind side position, when they've been so inconsistant at drafting them over the last decade or so, or might the Boys actually have something here?
