Flozell Adams' agent, Jordan Woy, said that his client's latest altercation with the Giants' Justin Tuck is being reviewed by the league.

"We talked to the Cowboys and the league office," Woy told ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins on Monday. "It's all under review and we told them our side of it."

Coach Wade Phillips said on Monday he talked to Adams at halftime about what happened. Phillips would not reveal specifics of their conversation. The league declined to speculate on the potential outcome of its review, but Adams at the very least faces a fine and could wind up getting suspended.

"Any altercation of that nature is reviewed for discipline," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins.

Addition by Subtraction...

The first move that Tex would make, would be to send Flozell Adams to bench, regardless of depth, or lack there of. Flozell Adams is the poster boy of dumb Cowboys football. He’s the common ingredient in all the December meltdowns, and if the beleaguered Adams can get away with frequent penalties, then so can the rest. Tex’s statement move, bench False Start Flozell and send a message that sloppy football will no longer be tolerated.

i actually agreed at one point

and would’ve liked to see it happen earlier in the year, before columbo got hurt. But its not worth Romo’s health now.

I’ve felt the same way though – that if we want to change the way this team plays and all the dumb mistakes, it starts with Flo. Too bad we don’t have the depth to do it. Cause benching him would lead to even sloppier football.

Yes

We need Flo this week.

I'm not talking about the false starts

I’m thinking of all the tripping and stuff that’s gone on with him and Tuck

I still believe in Romo.

by Nelson... on Dec 8, 2009 12:37 AM CST up reply actions

+1 The tripping doesnt bother me so much if its keeping Romo from being blasted.

Thats just an old guy who skills are diminishing and he is hanging in their anyway he can. The cheap shot in the back does a little. I really cant recall ever seeing Flo do something that blatantly cheap. It makes me wonder if something was going on in the trenches. These guys trade punches down there all the time. Hands in the face, pushing under the face mask and trying to rip each others heads off, ect… It happens and 80-90% we dont see. i wonder if Tuck said he was over the incident strictly so if he got caught during the game it wouldnt look premeditated. Flo looked awfully pissed. I never took to be a hot head.

KICK ASS every day!!!

Just what we needed with this horrible stretch of games coming up. I don't really

see why it would call for a suspension, but I’m not exactly objective either.

by Fernie67 on Dec 8, 2009 12:44 AM CST reply actions

I tend to agree with Tex here actually...

Flo seems to personify this teams struggles. He can absolutely silence some of the best pass rushers in the game..and he can single handedly kill a drive with bad false starts (ya I know he’s deaf) and holding calls. He either looks all world, or worthless.

But, as a hypothetical who do we start at LG if Flo is benched/suspended? I guess you put Free out there and then put McQuistan at RT. This is not a recipe for success, too unproven tackles is probably more damaging than an occasional false start or bone-head play.

I do think Flo is becoming more and more of a liability and phasing him out is probably good for the long term prospects of this line. But, at the moment the Cowboys do not have the personnel to make this an effective switch this late in the season.

by SDTrueblue on Dec 8, 2009 3:51 AM CST reply actions

Well the game after Colombo was injured

I think (might have been in the same game), Flo came out for one play for some reason. They left Free at RT and moved Bigg out to LT and brought in Proctor to sub at RG. I don’t know if they would do that for an entire game. Maybe use Proctor at RG, and flip Free to LT and Bigg to RT.

I’d rather not find out. But I wouldn’t blame the league for handing down a one game suspension. That was just a totally boneheaded move by Flo.

I laughed when it happened.

Okay, I admit it, I enjoyed watching Flo go postal. This team needs a little fire. I’m not saying to go do something stupid and get suspended, but you can bet your paycheck Tuck said or did something pretty wretched to cause it. This team needs to bring that fire to the field and take it out on the opponant there. There would have been no suspension for body slamming Justin F… after the ball is snapped. The Giants have always been a mouthy team. Flo was probably just as pissed off as the rest of us after we blew a 10-0 lead.

I was pissed that FOX wouldn't show the melee while Buck was saying the benches were clearing.

They would show it in baseball or hockey. For some reason, only the NFL is pacified by that network.

100% agreed.

I thought the exact same thing. That’s something you absolutely, positively HAVE to show, simply because a fight could have an impact on the game (with penalties or ejections). It’s not like there was streaker running across the field (which of course would be funny to see but is at least understandable that they wouldn’t show).

So if the cowboys win the game and come out fired up Flozell is a passionate dude? Not buying it. The penalty wasn’t even assessed, so what difference did it make? Yeah he fired up the giants? Like they didnt hate eachother already. Some of this stuff is really digging.

The Giants are apparently protesting that since the foul was assessed after the end of the first half, the penalty should have been assessed on the kickoff to begin the second half, and they have a pretty good point.

by JimmyK on Dec 8, 2009 8:59 AM CST up reply actions

He should get suspended for what he did...

If the league ends up doing it flo should appeal it so he can play against the chargers…Rather see him miss the saints game which most likely they are going to lose anyway…I think i posted this on another thread as well..your thoughts…

If Flozell is suspened it will be for his track record not just this incident

Flozell was already warned after the Pather Game that his next infraction may result in a suspension.

I can see the fine

but no way a suspension. Who knows what all is being said. They’re not playing chess out there. Despite all his issues, its been a luxury to not have to really worry about left tackle for nearly 20 years. Let’s pray we luck out again.

Glad to see

Dallas fans actually looking at this reasonably and agreeing something needs to be done (with the exception of a couple who I will address shortly). As a football fan, I can understand the tripping to try to protect the quarterback, but I can’t justify taking a cheap shot at someone as the teams are heading to the locker room at halftime. As a Giants fan, I am just pissed the the tripping resulted in Tuck being injured and the potential for him getting injured while getting blind sided.

There is no excuse for blind-siding someone well after the whistle has been blown. Trash talking is a part of the game even if it happens idiotically (how many times did Barber get up after a four yard run and act like he just rambled off 68 yards and a touchdown even though he was stopped in the backfield the two preceding plays…conversely, how many times did Bradshaw do the same thing). Rivalries produce trash-talking and if people can’t handle it and address it on the field during play, they should go back to mama and cry to her.

Based on Flozell’s history, the suspension seems like the most appropriate thing. He has been warned with fines enough times. I think repeat offenders that take cheap shots need to be fined with a warning of suspension and then suspended…that is the only way to make them stop. Dawkins has been getting fined for years and he doesn’t care…his teammates love when he lays someone out with a helmet-to-helmet hit even if the guy has to be carted off the field. There is no place for it.

I have the feeling there is more to the story

although the most laughable explanation I’ve heard is that Flo did not hear the whistle LOL. Nevertheless, something else must have happened to awake the madness of Flozell

Flozel not going to be suspended according to nfl network....

good news for us..not so good for the haters and you know who you are….Even though i believe what flozel did was putrid I am pleased he will not miss any time…
