Yahoo! Playoff Generator

Interesting little toy. You decide the winners/losers of the coming weeks and it shows you what the playoff picture looks like. Here's mine; you can use this link to also create your own:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&13=41510055&14=44014111&15=51000041&16=55041505

Division winners: Philadelphia, Minnesota, New Orleans, Arizona, New England, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, San Diego

Wild cards: Green Bay, Dallas, Baltimore, Denver

In case you're wondering, I put the Cowboys losing to both San Diego and New Orleans, while winning against the Redskins and Eagles. I was wondering if the Cowboys could make the playoffs if they went on a late 3 game losing streak, and they can. What has to happen is that the Giants have to lose 2 games. I had them lose to Philadelphia and Minnesota, which may very well happen. Of course, there are numerous other possible scenarios in the Cowboys playoff tickets (if the Cowboys win 3 of the next 4, they're in good shape, for example, no matter what the Giants do).

I also have both Indianapolis and New Orleans going 16-0, which probably won't happen (New Orleans might) but on paper they can clearly accomplish it, so that's what I went by.

Enjoy! And feel free to post your scenarios!

Pretty cool

Here’s mine – I have Dallas losing to NO but winning the rest to finish 11-5.

They host the Eagles on wild card weekend – what a shot at redemption!!

if we beat philly and washington

the only way we DON’T make the playofs is if philly beats the giants, and both go 3-1 down the stretch.

giants will beat the vikings

cause they would clinch their divisions by then

Well slap my ass and call me Henry

That may not bode well for us. AAAH I’m nervous about this final stretch! :(

P.S. has anyone ever written that as their subject?

2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
2009 New York Jets: not 11-5 :(
2009-2010 Dallas Mavericks: 57-25

If you use the "set teams by" feature on the far right..

It allows you to use stuff like home team, off rank, def rank, current win streak, etc. So I randomly cycled through..and Dallas showed up as a wild card more than half the time. Interesting note: When using offensive rank we showed up, defensive rank we did not.

I had Dallas and NY both finishing 10-6 and NY getting in because they swept us.

But that’s why they play the games! We could very easily win any of our remaining games, including this week AND at New Orleans. Question is, whether or not they step up to the plate.

I

have Dallas missing the playoffs at 7-9, because that’s how bad they lose in December. The NFL will take a game away.

But we've already won 8 games...

2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
2009 New York Jets: not 11-5 :(
2009-2010 Dallas Mavericks: 57-25

WOW

Haha I really thought you were serious about the 7-9 thing.

I was confused.

2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
2009 New York Jets: not 11-5 :(
2009-2010 Dallas Mavericks: 57-25
