Free Agent Safeties- Who to go after, Butler, Elam, Chavous, or?

This is the second part of my earlier post "Drafting Safeties", but I'm a little confused as to what would be our best option. I'm intrigued by getting Elam back- let me rephrase, I would be very happy to get Elam back, he looked good intercepting the ball last year. I believe Butler would not be a high profile pick up for us, but he has fire and is the kind of blue collar player we need more of (plus I think the Giants are overloaded with safeties anyway, so we should relieve them of that problem- especially because we are safety deficient). Think of the advantages of getting a good return on a lower tier safety in free agency as an ability to pick Ron Brace in the second round, then adress the offensive line, rather than draft a safety in the second or third round, and I think you'll agree that we should do something with the safety positions by way of free agency- what do you think?
