Is Bob Hayes’ ‘Sister’ Conning The Cowboys, The Hall Of Fame And The NFL?
Mike Fisher has an interesting column regarding Bob Hayes' "sister". If this is true, then there should be an investigation. It would be outrageous to lessen this well-deserved moment with a charlatan.
I hope it's not true but with all of Hayes' family members on one side and Lucille Hester on the other, it definitely sounds legitimate.

WTF
I just read this on another site. The powers that be can’t verify her true identity before letting her make the statement ? The Cowboys are just magnets for weirdness.
If she is a fraud, JJT will be having some serious explaining to do.

The whole JJT connection just tops it all off. One would think that a reporter would do due diligence on a matter such as this, especially since there haev been previous questions by the Hayes family about this woman.
Come on, JJT, do your job, man!
Congratulations Bob Hayes

The hits just keep on coming. Can anything related to the Cowboys
be dignified these days? This man’s legacy should be respected, not turned into another sideshow.

So tired of the embarassment...so tired..
Can anything positive happen? Does everything have to come down to a Ding-a-ling Bros sideshow? Even this, a moment I’ve waited for for a long time, has a wart attached to it. I’m ill with this whole year.

JJT
pwned by a pretty obvious grifter.

what's even more sad...
is that Bob Hayes Jr. is 30 years old and lives in Dallas….you telling me that he couldn’t have stood up and said WTF is going on here?? you telling me that the Cowboys would not be willing to take a call from Bob Hayes Jr. before all of this happened?
how does stuff like this happen?? its not like it just happened overnight – this has been going on for years with respect to the will etc
INCREDULOUS is the word….although the duping of JJT is entirely believable

That is just about the limit!!
The first good piece of news out of the Cowboys camp in months is getting whizzed on! I’ve had enough of the last twelve months. If she’s an imposter, throw her in jail or just get her out of the way.
Hopefully, Bob Hayes, Jr. will accept his jacket and his father gets hid just due. Then our Boys can have a good training camp and get things right. We’ve had our fill of bad news and controversy.

Reminds My of Spygate
The league has zero interest in getting to the bottom of this very smelly fish. They’ll just try to keep it out of the headlines for the next few weeks, until it blows over of its natural accord.
More evidence the league is interested in image than integrity.
JJT doesn’t come out looking so good, either. Or the Cowboys.

seems right actually...
He’s the worlds fastest man, but can’t run from his demons – and no one knows about them, or cares until it’s too late.
Now, there is this, and no one knows until now.
I wonder what role the stories about her and the grave played in pulling the heart strings of the voters? I certainly am not saying she’s RIGHT, I’m just saying her hype-machine helped keep Bob in the periphery instead of fading to oblivion, and maybe it had something to do with the Vets committee nominating him to begin with…. hmm.

Whatever is the truth of the matter…
IMO, the woman bears some resemblance to Bob. Perhaps it is a familial likeness or perhaps it is happenstance and serves as the impetus for her alleged confidence game.
Mr. Fisher likes to compare things in his article; perhaps he should examine the photos of the two, posted therein and now here. I think the similarity fades when one compares her to the older photos of Bob, but it shows more alongside the younger man on the football card. You be the judge.

At least he finally got in
Maybe Jerry hired her to play his sister (Ha!)

They admitted that she could be his sister.
Clearly she was close to him, and helped to get him into the hall of fame.

i'll take the bullet's word for it...
He said that was his sister. He said that her father was his father. I believe it.
Seems like the controversy has more to do with his mom than her. She, allegedly, had an extramartial affair but her husband raised Bob. I can understand why the family would be protective of the family name and scornful of her. This is very typical. It happens a lot. Bobby Darin is a good example. It happened in my family. Not my immediate family. But I’ve had relatives that have been whispered about. I have friends who find out years later that their “friendly uncle” is really their father. Or the aunt that raised them is really their mother.
It’s sad really. This is a very special moment for Bob and should be special for the family. But old secrets die hard. I can’t believe some people would be so dismissive of her that they’d attack her at this time.

Sounds like your taking sides without all the facts yourself.
If she is a fraud she deserves to be outed. If she is the real deal then the facts need to come out and the family can move on. She becoming his spokesman late in his life with a signature that doesnt even look like they were even trying to replicate looks spotty to me. I hope the family gets the facts and finds peace.

why isn't bob's word good enough?
and, more importantly, who cares??? isn’t the story about him and his long-awaited HOF acceptance? isn’t it kinda fishy that on this important day some people are making the story about HER?
family disputes are nothing new. It just seems that there are some undisputed facts in this story. No. 1: Bob treated this woman like his sister and this was widely known. No. 2: Bob thought George Sanders was his father. No. 3: George Sanders is her father.
Read this excerpt from kevin’s story.
In the book, Hayes reveals that his mother’s husband was away at war when he was conceived. Any time someone would ask if Bob Hayes was his son, George Sanders would reply, “That’s what his mother says.”
Sanders was identified in a DMN story this morning as the owner of a shoe-shine shop. But he was also a numbers runner, according to Hayes. And he would place his son in match races around the neighborhood. He bragged that Bob could beat anyone, even after a night drinking whiskey.
At the time, Bob was 12.
Lucille Hester, who read a letter purportedly written by Hayes at the news conference announcing his HOF selection, told our Brad Townsend that George Sanders is her father. If true, then her claims to being Bob’s sister, or half-sister, are correct. Even Bob’s immediate family members concede that, while Joseph Hayes raised Bob, he was not Bob’s biological father.
I’m not going to say I definitely believe she’s telling the truth. If I said that earlier, I misspoke. No one knows for sure. I guess what I’m trying to say is that her story seems plausible. Now the letter is a whole different story. That does sound fishy.
but the most unseemly thing to me seems to be how this is distracting from the moment. if you loved this man, just seems like this dispute could be resolved at a different time. and in private.

that's fair...
i guess my respect for bob’s accomplishment is more important than expressing my outrage. i think that’s the point i’m trying to make.

The Fraudelent Signature
Is the place that some investigator needs to start. That says it all. A fraudulent signature on a will is a freaking felony, sister or not.
This is terrible and it really pisses me off.
