Does Garrett Like Cutler Better Than Romo?
For those who said that the drama will leave with Terrell Owens, I hate to break it to you... but you're a little bit wrong.
First, you had Terence Newman critiquing Tony Romo.
And the latest turn of events has Jason Garrett lauding praises over Jay Cutler.
NOW HERE'S WHERE I PUT ON THE BRAKES WITH HEAVY-FOOTED INTENSITY!!!
The mediots are reaching again in what Grizz has deemed as the "silly season." With Cutler's latest publicized bout with newly appointed Denver coach Josh McDaniels, the DMN decides to dig deep and pull out a Garrett quote WHEN he was interviewing for the once-vacant Broncos head coach job.
And THAT'S WHEN he said the following about Denver's #6:
You look at him and you see what you'd like to see in a quarterback, going all the way back to college, just the physical and mental toughness he possesses," Garrett told Denver media. "To play at Vanderbilt and play in the SEC and play the way he did, that's what really stood out. How he performed in some very difficult situations, how he always seemed to be in control and how he just competed all the time."
DallasNews.com blogger Tim MacMahon decides to draw traffic to this latest post by adding his two cents with these ill-timed words:
I'll go out on a limb and say that Cutler would rather work for Garrett than Josh McDaniels.
All I've got to say is that Timmy Mac's entry is a crock of sh__.

To paraphrase Stephen Jones
when Jay Cutler manages the Denver Broncos or Dallas Cowboys, he can trade himself wherever he damn well pleases.
What was Garrett supposed to say, “I’m interviewing for the Denver job, but I really think there are better QBs elsewhere in the league.”
They’ve lost T.O. What will the Metroplex scribes do? Can you imagine the pearl clutching, whimpering, pounding of T.O.’s photos and cries, of “why, why!, why!!!” emanating from the DMN and Star-Telegram newsrooms?

EXACTLY!
JG was interviewing for the Denver job. OF COURSE he’d praise the QB. NOWHERE in this article does it say anything about JG comparing Romo to the crybaby. Please let this subject die a quick death. It’s not happening. We’re not trading Romo for Cutler, or Romo/Carp for Cutler, or Romo/Williams for Cutler/Marshall or Royal….I know this blog is intended to explore any and all avenues of Cowboys business, but PLEEEEEASE LET IT DIE!

Oh yeah timmy tabloid went so far as to report the TO jersy situation because it involved James Hardy
and that is linked to dallas because they tried to get him last year, yeaaaahhhh. The T-new critique of Romo has been retracted by T-new because he suffers fromt he same PR foot-in-mouth disease as GE. I like how the DMN and others are desperate for cowboys news they will report stuff coming out from the howard stern show. How slow will late may thru june be for these guys; it’s going to be like a car wreck on that site, unless actual news comes they will not have much to report. But when they had TO they had his reality show to report (do not be suprised to see updates on that site); but they will still have the playmaker’s show and will derive what little content that will provide. I hope the gag order stays through all the way to the begining of training camp.

LOL on the last comment
The beautiful thing about the gag order —
Wade can now invoke it any time he doesn’t feel like talking. The press is getting on his nerves, he can simply say, “sorry fellas, I can’t talk,” and that’s that.
LOL!

of course he's going to praise Cutler
he was interviewing for the Bronco job, he’s not an idiot like McDaniels who will probably go down as the worst HC in NFL history.
Where in that quote does Garrett imply he likes Cutler better than Romo?? I didn’t see it and certainly don’t believe that Garrett thinks thats true.

have you ever seen another HC
start off his career like this? He’s certainly headed in that direction.

YES
Jimmy Johnson
…only he was doing it to the #1 overall pick in the NFL in Troy Aikman.

+1........
broad over-statement to say that he’s “probably going to become the worst coach in NFL history.” I wish nothing but the best for McDaniels and it’s not to classy to want other-wise btw. Blings you are correct Jimmy didn’t exactly start off with the Cowboys blazing did he?

who said I wanted it to happen
why do you assume and imply so much from what I say?

well maybe it's because you said......
“he’s not an idiot like McFDaniels who will probably go down as the worst HC in NFL history.” That’s a little presumptious wouldn’t you agree and to call someone an idiiot before they have coached their first game is unfair. If you don’t want me to assume or imply so much from what you say then don’t call people idiiots or overexaggerating.

I called him an idiot
not for his coaching abilities but for decision making ability because only an idiot would have done what he did with respect to going after Cassell and disrespecting his team’s franchise qb in the process.
McDaniels decision in that regard was idiotic to say the least and I’ll bet over 90% of all Bronocs fans feel the same way.

now you're splitting hairs.......
I’m not going to get into some little petty argument about what you said which is “he is not an Idiot like McDaniels who will probably go down as the worst HC in NFL history.” Yes, McDaniels probably handled the Cutler situation badly. That’s not the point. You over-stated that McDaniels will probably go down as the worst HC. You can’t make that statement because he hasn’t even coached his first game and btw you have previously stated that Cutler was “over-rated” so why are you calling him a franchise QB now?
by texstar on Mar 18, 2009 2:36 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
just because I think he's overrated
doesn’t mean he’s not a franchise qb, one has nothing to do with the other.
You overstate things all the time and you’re entitled to do so. If I think McDaniel will turn out to be a terrible HC, I’m entitled to that opinion. I really don’t care if you think its overstated or exaggerating.

I would take McDaniels over Garrett in a heart beat...
Any guy that can run a veteran laden team offense like NE surely has shown more than Carrot will ever show..

something tells me
you would take any coach over Garrett.

Grass is always greener approach?
McDaniels had alot more help than Garrett did last year. I’m not sold on Garrett yet, but Belichek worked with his OC much more than Wade did.

He could also be another charlie weiss, just because
he came from NE does not gurantee that a coach will be successful. Remember that BB had to cut his teeth with the browns before he went back to BP on the jets squad then bolted for the pats when he had the chance. McDaniels could go throught the same progression where he had to learn the ropes before he will yield results, he is 32/33 yrs old and that is very young for a HC where a number of players are your peer or older.

Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

that was different
Troy Aikman was a rookie like Steve Walsh, Cutler is a 3 year vet and a proven NFL qb, quite a bit of difference.
Plus, JJ actually acquired Walsh, unlike McDaniels acquiring Cassell. McDaniels cannot go after Cassell unless he is 99.9% its going to happen.
