Thanks DC and Grizz for getting the interview out on the blog,

unforturnately I have to wait until I go home today, my work blocks most videos, if it was a podcast then I could listen to it. Does the fact that you have not created a post about the interview mean that
A. You have not had a chance to listent to it yet?
B. You did not hear anything of real value or informative info, so not post is really requred?
C. You are going to post something about it later?

Mostly B

He did say being Romo-friendly meant taking advantage of his improvisation skills and the fact that he’s not a stand in the pocket, drop-back passer. Sounds like Jerry wants Garrett to create more planned roll-outs, moving the pocket…that kind of stuff.

The other interesting thing he said was when asked about Roy Williams only getting two catches a game last year…Jerry said maybe, maybe (heavy emphasis) they need to think about that because there aren’t enough balls to go around and they want Roy to have a lot of balls. Bypassing the obvious joke of Roy Williams having balls…was Jerry commenting on T.O. in that statement? Interesting idea but no follow-up question from Steve Dennis.

sure sounds like Jerry might be

a bigger fan of RW2 than T.O., very interesting. I still say Jerry and Stephen are contemplating his release.

From Roy's comments over the weekend.....

I can’t help but think that was one reason that they signed Kitna since Roy really likes Kitna and maybe he can help get Roy and Romo on the same page.

the more i think about the move to pick up kitna...

the more i am liking it… not for kitnas ability, but for his “coaching” ability for romo to roy… excited for the offseason, really excited

I think Kitna has something to offer Romo but this Kitna will help their chemistry is off.

Playing pitch and catch and learning Roys best routes along with were he likes the balls delivered(high, low, right, left, ect…). Acpmplete offseason and TC is were the chemistry will come from. Those thing will be better told to romo by RW2 than Kitna.
Roy came in mid season and ran the best routes of Crayton and Austin not RW@ best routes. I hope i dont come off as condesending but chemistry comes with playing together and hanging out together. They will get it done.

As a side note maybe Jerrys mind on TO wont even be determined until he can see if Romo and RW2 working together in OTAs can develope some chemistry.

I totally agree

I think if the Romo to RW2 combo looks good in mini camps, T.O. is a goner.

Jerry should run for office...

He can talk for 20 minutes and not say anything. He’s better than a politician. How the heck does one acquire that skill anyways?

Did he not answer any questions directly?

I have only watched the interview once but if he answered each question and you feel nothing relevant came from the interview then that is the fault of the interviewer.

Do you think

that his comment about Wade doing a fine job with the defence is a hint that he may have the thoughts still of adding a consultant. a la Dan Reeves. I still think that we have to get someone to demand accountability from the players and coaches and Wade just isn’t that person.

I wonder how Jerry puts up with the local press...

they all seem so smug with their attitude. It’s annoying that they try to make the news not just report the news.

I think our biggest fault as fans is we so desperately try to decipher and analyze

everything that comes out of anyones mouth. Then when we get nothing we are ticked off. Jerry is going to lean one way this week and another the next. Most of his decisions havent been made and wont be until the last week/day. Our draft board is still a work in progress. FA is still going on, injuries and surgeries are still healing and possible trades are being discussed.

Actually, I think Jerry has already made up his mind about a lot of things.

He’s just not going to be an open book about it. The thing is, even with all of the double talk he does, you can usually get a general direction of where he is going. I can’t remember a time when Jerry has flat out lied. Based on what has been said this past offseason, I can conclude that he feels Romo is the best chance for him to get a Superbowl, his support has never wavered and has actually grown (Aikman, Staubach, and Jimmy Johnson all think very highly about Romo and I’m sure Jerry hears this). He still thinks that Wade gives him the best chance to maximize the defense (no one else better is available). He’s not going to get into cap hell as he did about 10 years ago. And finally, he’s looking to improve through the draft.

As far as TO goes, I think if a few things fall right, TO is gone. In any case, he probably feels it is a good thing to keep TO blowing in the wind to keep him on his best behaviour. The “Romo friendly” comment let’s him know that if it comes to a decision between the two, he’s a goner.

I don't see it like that.

Jerry likes to have his name blowing in the wind. Keeping the TO question front and center with the media keeps Jerry front and center.

TO will wear the star as long as he produces on the field and maintains some self control off of it.
