The Cowboys shuffle at linebacker continues. Kevin Burnett will be visiting San Diego after visiting Oakland. The Cowboys also signed linebacker Matt Stewart who played for Wade Phillips in Atlanta but has been out of football for the past two years.

SD
Would be a good fit for him, they have the big NT to keep lineman off of him.

So Stewart played LB for Wade in Atlanta
that probably means he played ST for Joe DeCamillis.
I think that’s the role he’ll try to win this summer. He’ll try to fill in Carlos Polk’s old role and give Justin Rogers a run for is spot.

You don't think Polk will be back?

yes Raf...it was mentioned that he played ST for DeCamillis in Atlanta as well...must of been good if they're reaching out to him again after a year or two out of football.
I think Polk might make it back here towards the end of camp…

I just read his scouting report at ESPN Insider
You have to have an insider account but this Stewart guy sounds like another one of these low price, smart ex-Wade guys like Brooking.
Was it 2003 that Wade was in Atlanta?? Stewart had 2.5 sacks and 3 FF’s. Seems like a solid rotational player and will probably be very good on special teams. Here’s an excerpt from his scouting report:
“…is great in the locker room and well-respected by his peers. He’s intelligent and able to make adjustments on the fly. He lacks ideal size for a 3-4 outside linebacker, but his sound technique and experience help him get by…”
Another smart move if he’s healthy.

Looks like Dallas is going for versatile, steady players and doing it on the cheap.
They need to hurry up, though because I just watched this documentary on the end of the world in 2012!

I can live with Carp in space
just not taking on OL where he’ll get abused like the Barbie that he is.

Me too.
At least then, we will know how he holds up. Another camp with Colombo and Bigg targeting him may just be what helps him achieve “the Power of Greyskull!”.

Yeah carpenter fits that analogy of that point in time, power of greyskull indeed. It
would make sense that the analogy to best describe barbie would come from one of the gayer cartoon shows ever.
