Dallas 7 round mock draft

I just finished my 7 for all 32 teams, a total of 256 picks.  I did not do trades for any team because they are very hard to predict.  I am just going to post the Cowboys draft but can add teams if needed.

2 round (51).  Darcel McBath, S.  Texas Tech.  A ball hawk safety with good upside

3rd round (69).  Cody Brown, DE, UConn.  Will make the move from DE to OLB.  Has good pass rush ability.

4th round (101).  Garrett Reynolds, OT, North Carolina.  A high upside project at LT

4th round (117).  Herman Johnson, G, LSU.  A big inside lineman who should provide good depth.

5th round (156).  Jasper Brinkley, ILB, South Carolina.  A big linebacker who could add depth and work on special teams, limited upside.

5th round (166).  Terrance Knighton, DT, Temple.  Is a guy could be a flex player, playing inside on passing downs and outside on running downs.

5th round (172).  Demetrius Byrd, WR, LSU.  A talented WR who looks the part and has solid upside.

6th round (197).  Otis Wiley, S, Michigan St.  Special teams player and backup at safety.

6th round (208).  Spephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M.  Has okay upside and doesn't have to be anything more than the 3rd QB this year.  Could be a good option if we run the wildcat this year.

7th round (210).  Donald Washington, CB, Ohio St.  Probably won't be much this year but has good upside and good talent.

7th round (227).  Marlon Favorite, DT, LSU.  Projects as a big run stuffing nose tackle in a 3-4 defense.

I like it, but...

No way Brinkley makes it to the 5th.
No way we don’t take a single corner.
And where’s our third 5th rounder (172)?

I think Dillard would make for a great pick if he's still there in the 7th

Not real sure about the rest. McBath would be an OK pick up.

I could live with this.

51st seems a little early for McBath. Herman Johnson in the 4th is a good pick (although I’ve seen him go to Dallas in the 3rd in other mocks and thats too early for him.) Brinkley in the 5th and Dillard in the 7th are the other picks I like.

I made a little mistake when entering players last night.

Since I hand write then draft when I do it i looked at the wrong team when I wrote down Dillard I don’t have us taking him. And I completely didn’t put our 5th round pick number 172 in. I did it in the draft but overlooked it when putting this together.

McBath is a third rounder at best.

Couple I like

Brinkley (but you have him a little lower than I think he’ll go)
Wiley (he very well could be there, I’d love to get him)

Couple I don’t like-
Herman Johnson(he’ll never be more than a backup)
Garrett Reynolds (don’t think he’ll be a LT, at least not a starter there)
D Byrd (I don’t know much about him, but I’d rather get Dillard in the 4th round)

Feb. 27 -- Veteran free agency signing period begins. Trading period begins.
April 25-26 -- NFL Draft

pick number 101 is going to be

Antoine Caldwell from Alabama.
Darcel is too high.
Jasper is too low.
Burnett needs a replacement, unless your comfortable w/ Carpenter.
Johnson is as said before, the second ranked guard by many scouts so he will be gone by at least the end of the third.
I do like from Terrance Knighton down though…very nice later rounds.

I have

McBath ranked as the 4th safety, behind Delmas, Johnson, and Chung. It might be a little high for him but he’s a good player who should get better. Cody Brown should be a good pass rusher. I like Reynolds and while he wouldn’t contribute this year I think he could be good in the future. I have Johnson ranked as the 4th guard who has some weight issues but would be great in our offense. I am not as high on Brinkley as some are. He’s big but slow with limited range. I think he will drop this far because he would have little use to a team that runs the 4-3. He would have to play in the 3-4. Knighton could be a good 3-4 DE. My favorite player out of everybody is Favorite. He is huge and could be our starter at NT in the future.

I really don’t think that Moore is going to be a very good pro. When watching him this year he seemed to watch the quarterback to much and not cover the WR. Then when the pass was thrown he was covering no one. He’s good at run stopping but lacking in pass coverage.

it all depends which Moore is the real Moore

the 2007 version which would be one of the top 15 players in the draft or the 2008 version, which is a 4th or 5th rd player.

I think he’s somewhere in between which makes him the 4th best safety in this years draft class.

This draft

Is going to be terrible. I hope I’m wrong but jeez. Would Darcel McBath really be the best player on the board?

reaching

for a safety in the late 2nd sounds like a disaster. We should just take the best players available, unless they are tightends or running backs. Everyone else should be game.

yep

I hate to be mean but this draft would make me sick.
