How will Felix be utilized in 09 ?
From what I have heard, Felix & Tashard will both be counted on to carry a majority of the load during the first half of games. With Felix lined up as a slot WR at times. I love the idea, bringing in a fresh Marion barber to close it out like he did in 07.
How do you guys think it will play out.
I also think Felix would be great for the Wildcat offense. Back when he was at Arkansas he took a bunch of handoffs from McFadden & making the most of his oppurtunities, he was a scoring machine. If he's healthy he can do big things for our offense.

Hopefully
very often. I hope he sees a lot of touches in the 2nd half as well.
+1 hopefully a lot
If he doesn’t get 10-15 touches a game (rushing or receiving) then Garrett should be fired, there is no excuse for it.
In Romo we Trust
Yes
Never again should there be a repeat of that first Redskins game. That was an embarrassment of a game plan.
Everything's looking up, Milhouse!

Question
So how many touches do we think Barber gets a game…5…10…15?
I’m thinking we’d be crazy not to get him 15/game, but that would seem hard to do if he’s only getting touches in the 2nd half.
I think he'll get 20-25
Jones will get 1-5, and Choice will get 0-3. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s what I think will happen.

Are those '08 numbers?
I don’t think it will be so cut and dry, and I definitely do not think Garrett is gonna shy from using these other 2 guys in favor of Barber’s experience. They’re not rookies anymore and he now knows what he has in them.
Is it too early to ask what round I should aim for Felix in my fantasy football league?

I think it's going to be extremely difficult to balance all 3
It’s almost a shame that all three tailbacks are so good. It’s going to be tough to take a player out when they’re trying to develop a rhythm. There’s not enough carries to go around.
I think one RB will feel criminally underutilized each game. More often than not, it’s going to be T. Choice.

Agreed.
I think it would be very fun to get creative with ways to get guys on the field at the same time.
I think that Felix is so damn valuable, just because you have to pay attention to where he’s at.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.
Love to see all 3 on the field at once...
Not all the time… but I’d like to see us develop some plays with a split backfield. Barber and Choice split behind Romo with Felix in the slot. Talk about options.
Garrett needs to get a clue!
I'll believe it when I see it.
Garrett has not demonstrated the willingness or ability to use all of his weapons so far, so when I see him start doing it, I’ll change my predictions. Here’s how next year’s offense will go, 35 pass plays a game, Witten option 1, Williams option 2, RB option 3, other WRs option 4 if not sacked and/or fumbled by then. Roughly 25 carries per game, mostly barber, a few to the other backs.

Man, you're depressing me.
Seriously, if they did pound Barber that much, don’t you think he’d be injured by Week 7? Red Skull can’t be that much of a numbskull, can he?
I can see us
starting with barber and throwing in Felix here and there in some plays through out the game. perhaps having him in the back field for some plays. But I also see CHoice getting a series or three in the game. That way we can see who has the hot feet and go with it in the second half. barber defintely the closer at the end and when getting close to the end zone. it would be nice to have the three of them around 800-900 yards each, but more probably Barber 1000-1100, felix with about 600-700 total, and choice with around 400-500 rushing.
Something to consider about Felix's potential....
When contemplating about what Felix could be, lots of people bring up Marshall Faulk and they could just as easily bring up Thurman Thomas; who was as much of a total yards from scrimmage demon as Faulk.
Now, besides the fact that we don’t know how versatile Felix actually is as a receiver there are other things that worked in these guys’ favor. Look at who those offenses had on the edges. The Rams had Bruce and Holt and the Bills had Reed and Lofton. So as great as Thurman and Marshall were, they were greatly helped in being surrounded by dangerous players at receiver who needed to be accounted for making it that much easier to create mismatches.
Even with Garrett’s “alleged” creativity, will he really be able to fully exploit mismatches utilizing Felix if the guys out wide are ordinary humps?
Or how about...
Roger Craig.. he was also one of the better dual threat guys around.
And as far as the wideouts.. I think Faulk helped them more then they freed up Faulk, but I understand your point.
Still you will have to account for Witten and if Roy can become solid, maybe not spectacular but solid, you will at least have to respect the offense.
All in all, it all comes down to Romo.

I know Felix doesn't have an injury history
But I’m really hoping he has a healthy career. The ceiling is just so high, and it’d be a crying shame if he never got a chance to touch it.

If he avoids injury he will be what Reggie Bush dreams of being
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
