Around SBN: Kentucky Football: Tee Martin Reportedly Leaving for USC

MJC121 wants to discuss a certain Cowboys wide receiver: Mr. Mosley, I want to know the role of WR Miles Austin this season. He showed signs of greatness last year. Is he going to be a major target for [Tony] Romo this year? And if he is, what kind of impact does he bring to an already diverse offense?

Mosley: At this point, Austin's actually Romo's favorite receiver. I'm serious. The two bonded big time in last year's training camp, and Romo has a lot of confidence in him. Romo and Roy Williams still don't appear to be on the same page in the OTAs I've observed. And Williams' insistence on talking about how Romo and him have "broken down boundaries" is sort of embarrassing. There's a chance that Austin is one of the Beast's breakout stars in '09. I had a chance to talk to him for a little while Friday. Everyone keeps asking him if he's going to be the No. 2 receiver. And you can tell it sort of frustrates him. In his mind, he has a chance to be the No. 1 receiver.

I can easily see that happening

Austin is probably the best player in the league that nobody really knows about, the kid’s potential is simply off the charts and if he can stay healthy this season, I can easily see him putting up #1 receiver type numbers.

In Romo we Trust

rofl

I like Austin and always have, but I’ll be damned if I’m going out on that limb this early. He’s pretty fast, he has the size, but he still clanks balls off his hands, though it seems that’s improved some.

I wouldn’t draft him in any FF league unless you’re playing against other Cowboy fans that know he could be the #2 this year. He’s a guy u can watch over the first couple weeks to see how he’s doing and then scoop him up if you still want to.

of course not

he has 18 career catches and 3 TDs lol.

but I like the fact that he has the mindset that he’s not setting a ceiling for himself and settling for what anyone says he can be. He does have the potential to be a #1, the physical traits and the basic skills, but the only way he’ll ever get there is to set his sights high. So he is still a big unknown, but he has the right attitude.
