How Jerry dumped T.O.
"I was meeting with Jerry (Jones) and his son Stephen," said Owens. "Both of my agents were there Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. And we had the meeting. We thought it was going to be something productive about the upcoming season.
"There was a tablecloth there and Jerry started scribbling. He put his name on one side and mine on one side and I’m wondering what’s going on. He paused for a second and drew a line down the middle of the table and said, ‘We have to part ways.’"
"I didn’t know what to think and looked at Drew and he looked across the table at Jerry and Stephen and said, ‘Are you serious?’ And then he asked, ‘Can we talk about this?’ And Jerry said that’s where we are. Basically they said my personality was too big for the Cowboys."

Jerry was correct
T.O. had become the most powerful person within the team and Jerry and Stephen know it was detrimental to the team’s future success.
Great call.

It sure was a ballsy move, but they had the cojones to do it.
Could you imagine going through another year of that BS? Rip that bandaid off, Jones Bros!

It had to be done
I will enjoy watching the team this year more regardless of the final outcome.

hmm
the could have work it out but to eat his cap numbers and productivly woww! that tell u something. I know 4 myself T.O. was not just the problem Jerry needed to start from the top on down. Not just a couple of fall guys.

For Pacman Jones...
Jerry Jones made a flipbook of Pacman smoking blunts, spitting on strippers, fighting his bodyguards, and “making it rain.” Pacman left the meeting thinking he got a raise.

I got a better question
why did Jerry even give TO that extension?

Bacause he is a dominant playmaker
and arguably the best WR ever to play for the Cowboys?
Prime Time: If we were playing a game of pickup basketball, what should I expect?
Tony Romo: Well...I'd spot you 10 points if we were playing to 11.

3 years was good
but not 6 years especially at his advanced age.

it makes since
i read on a post somewhere that T.O. kept the table cloth for motivation reasons i see y now. At first I thought T.O. flip his mind, but after reading this its what Jerry wrote on the cloth that burns him.His seperation from the Cowboys.Wowww. I see y T.O. still seem kinna hurt when he talk about it. I would b too if i gave 100%.
But like they say a player is bad if Jerry got’em, callin him this and that. But when they go else where they are great picks and stars. Jerry stop letting fools get in your ears. A word of advice Jerry if u want to do something do it 4yourself not what others want you to do.
