The first casualty........
........and camp hasn't even started yet. MIckey Spags is reporting over on DC.com that Robert Brewster has a torn pectoral and might be gone for the year. He're a snippet:
Third-round draft choice Robert Brewster has suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights in the post-minicamp training program, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed, and the subsequent surgery to repair the injury leaves him unavailable for the start of training camp. The Cowboys are unsure if the offensive lineman from Ball State can return in time to become active for the 2009 season.
What a bummer, we just can't seem to get any breaks with rookies on the OL. It seems like they either get hurt or just plain suck, more of the latter than the former, unfortunately.

IR
It’s a 6 month injury. He won’t be available for 2009. I’m sure he’ll be in IR soon. I thought he had a chance. Darn! I wish we had taken a few more OLinemen with all our picks in the draft.
Then we are screwed...
…because the chances of going a full season without a single injury on the o-line are astronomically small.

Of course we needed a bunch of LB’s to “churn out the bottom of the roster” as the number 1 priority.
Not that I expected anything from Brewster anyway, but now his long term viability is in question, given how long it takes to come back from a torn pec.

O-line is the main concern
and now I’m extremely worried. In my opinion, our 9-7 season in 2008 was because of our O-line. It is extremely overrated. If they don’t play well, we will have another 9-7 season or even an 8-8 season. VERY WORRIED!

We will surely be signing some scrap heap players for depth...

I'd be watching the waiver wire as we get closer to September...
Look at the teams with the strongest offensive lines and check out any linemen who are in the final cuts.
Garrett needs to get a clue!
