Tony, Tiger and Me

Sorry, but this isn't much of a FanPost. I have been trying to post photos from when I watched Romo play with Tiger Woods at Congressional golf course this past Wednesday, but I just can't figure it out. So, I posted a few pics on the BTB Facebook page. They are easily accessible and viewable there. Hope you enjoy, I know that I had a great time for the 12 holes that I followed Tony and Tiger.

Romo snubs boy with Cowboy jersey

I was at the pro-am tourney too and what a great day for golf! I know why Romo was paired with Tiger…he can really hit the ball. There were about 50 of us following him. But I had to scratch my head on the 17th hole when a little kid approached Romo (with father) with his #9 jersey on and asked Tony for his autograph and Romo looked at him and walked away – I mean, gosh, he was two feet away looking at him! The dad was really pissed and many of us booed. It kinda reminded me when I was a kid and asked Greg Maddux for an autograph and he told me to get out of his way. Everyone saw it and I found this morning it was reported in the local papers here. www.washingtonexaminer.com I’m really starting to wonder about this guy…not the way to treat fans, Tony.

I definitely wouldn't be

signing autographs while playing golf. I would think that it’s disruptive for the rest of the players.

Not a snub

SaratogaRacing – it was obvious that neither Tony nor Tiger were signing during the round. Tiger’s autograph day was Tuesday and I saw a video clip of Tony signing either before or after the round. Please don’t take what you read in any of the local press here for fact – they were actively lamenting that Tiger chose Tony over their (inferior) QB, so they created some bad press for him.

Tony complemented my family for wearing Cowboys gear and smiled at us several times when the kids cheered him. He was nice, but just not signing…

BTW, I posted my summary on my FANPOST (Romo vs. Woods vs. Boehner)

I agree with Cal in DC

it was obvious that there was just not going to be any serious fan interaction during the round, which I am OK with. I like to compete, and I wouldn’t really want to be disturbed while playing with the world’s greatest golfer. I did not stay for the whole round, but I bet it would have been easier to get autographs and whatnot after they finished.

Cal - you're right, but...

It was the body language more than anything else and it did happen during a lull in the action; it was just a bit weird because I have never seen that demeanor from Romo before – when you’re in the public eye, you have to be conscious how you come across to your fans; particularly kids. I think he will learn this as he matures more in the public spotlight. Not a big deal, just sort of surprised me, that’s all.

BTW

Whatever Tony told TIger, it worked. Nice job Romo.

Tony to Tiger

I was actually heard what he whispered…it was, “hey, Tiger, if should happen to lose the tournament, whatever you do, don’t tell the press that it’s just another game.”

Tks for the pics and Tiger....

really could hit the ball, couldn’t he? It was violent. I’m thinking he could’ve been a great football player, but at which position? Free-safety would be interesting…now that would be an interesting fan post!
