Cowboys vs. Raiders - preseason

This is for the fans in the SF bay area... Sorry for the geographically centered nature to this post.

Anyone know where the Cowboys will be staying while playing the Raiders?  And/or where they might be practicing pre-game and if that practice is open to the public?  I miss the good-old Oxnard days.

How about on game day?  Last time I went to watch the Cowboys at Oakland it was fun to see the 'Boys but troubling to have to deal with the drunken Raiders fans.  Lots of pushing, cutting in line... just unnecessarily unpleasant and unruly.  I'm not there to pick fights with idiot Raiders thugs... I mean... fans.  Anyone hoping to score cheap tix after the game begins?

Your thoughts and insight are welcome.  Cheers and go Cowboys.

I

went to the preseason game there a few years ago. Sat right by the entrance tunnel. Didn’t have any issues with the fans, mainly cause I didn’t wear any Cowboys gear. I wanted to go watch the team play, not get harassed. Thought about going this year, but for some reason, watching football live doesn’t interest me. I like watching it on TV more. Unless it’s in Dallas, of course.

As far as where they’ll stay, no clue.

no wearing Cowboys gear so you wouldn't get harassed??

You got to be kidding me? And you call yourself a Cowboys fan, you should be ashamed of that.

No offense WTC

but Terry is right, its all part of the experience even if they’re yelling at you. Wear the STAR with pride.

IMO getting harassed is half the fun

The fun I had with all the obnoxious Steelers fans last year was great. I rode them through the 1st three and half qtrs and they rode me the rest of the way.

Like you said, it’s all part of the experience.

I don't know, man.

I agree to an extent, but some fans can get ugly. I went to a Steelers/Cowboys preseason game in the early 90s and they turned some guys car over because it had Cowboys stuff on it. I wore my gear in DC and will at the Tampa game, but in places like Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Philly where many of the fans are a bunch of uneducated, low class jerks just looking for an excuse to get drunk and fight, it’s not worth it. Especially if you are taking your family.

I've lived in the Bay Area, and I gotta agree...

I go to the Cowboys-Giants game almost every year in the Meadowlands, and those fans are relatively tame. You see and hear Cowboys fans throughout the game. But in Oakland, when I went to a Jets game, you didn’t see ONE SINGLE green jersey throughout the entire STADIUM! It was a little weird, but that’s the way it is and I guess you just respect their insanity?

Doomsday returns... Wade Phillips style.

like I said

if it was just yelling, “Cowboys suck” or anything to that nature … that’s one thing. I’m a big dude, but I’m not trying to get into a fist fight just because I’m wearing an Emmitt Smith jersey. (which I saw there, BTW. 3 Raiders fans on one Cowboys fan. Didn’t look good. Hell, I almost got into a fist fight during an Oakland A’s game for wearing a Dallas shirt!)

there's

a difference between getting harassed and made fun of, and getting threatened to get your ass kicked in front of your 13 year old nephew and having beer thrown on you. There’s a reason why Oakland fans have a rep for being rowdy ….. Philly fans ain’t got nothing on Raiders fans. or Oakland fans in general. I’m not ashamed of anything.

My bad WTC

Didn’t know you had a kid with you, my apologies if I misinterpreted your comments.

don't

worry. No harm, no foul. I’m waiting for the Boys to go to SF, Niner fans are at least civil.

Niners fans might douse you with red wine and make you eat expensive cheese...

while you never know what Darth Vader and Demolition have planned for you at the urinal in the Coliseum.

The season begins in 3...2...

And eagles suck

there is a hayatt regency hotel not too far from the coliseum in LA, I bet that’s where the Cowboys are going to stay. I am not from the bay area but I think the hayatt is the official Cowboys hotel.
