Happy Fourth of July from BTB

Happy Birthday, America!
We'll leave this post up as an open thread for any Fourth of July party reports or any random football talk that might creep up.
We'll be back posting new stories later tonight but in the meantime, enjoy your holiday.
America's Holiday and America's Team go together!
Hat tip to DaveTroll for making the July 4th graphic.

An early July 4th from Thailand...
Last week, 5700 US Navy boys celebrated a little early, anchoring in Phuket, Thailand and going to one of the seedier towns in this country, Patong. Call it an economic stimulus for the local economy (cough~bargirls) … but definitely how these shipmen will remember this year’s independence day.
I’ll be doing shots and downing beers at a local “farong” (foreigner) pub … with at most 4-5 other Americans, as well as with the owners (Turkish / Muslim / love the states and what the USA stands for), and hopefully a few local Thai girls (known around here as Dee Dee = NOT bar girls)…
Enjoy your own fireworks, gentlemen!

Thankful...
…that we watch, enjoy, and talk about football in a country that allows it. God bless those who wear the uniform each day in forsaken lands at the highest cost. Their bravery should never be forgotten – nor the sacrifice of our founding fathers. The Land of the Free will give us the chance to see El Gato blow Antonio Pierce out of his cleats come September, and I hope those Cowboys overseas wearing our colors on distant shores can enjoy a brief respite from kicking the ass of any evil they encounter by watching the replay over and over.

Ice Teague was the man!
Him decking TO and leading the Cowboys onto the field with that flag are 2 of my all time favorite Cowboys memories.

America the Brave
Over 200 years ago our founding fathers put their lives and families on the line to go up against the most powerful nation with the most powerful military in the world. They signed the Declaration of Independence. The penalty for disloyalty to the crown, death by hanging. It was liberty or death.
Today, 1000’s of our young men and women risk everything so we can enjoy the liberty won by those founding fathers. Please remember what this day is all about. God Bless America!

Happy BD America! Best country on the planet.
Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out! The hell’s the matter with you? Stupid! We’re all very different people. We’re not Watusi. We’re not Spartans. We’re Americans, with a capital ‘A’, huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We’re the underdog. We’re mutts! Here’s proof: his nose is cold! But there’s no animal that’s more faithful, that’s more loyal, more loveable than the mutt. Who saw “Old Yeller?” Who cried when Old Yeller got shot at the end?

6 years of active duty...
And in one week from today I’ll be done. Wouldn’t take it back for anything.
Happy Birthday USA.
Now time for a beer.
it was weird, I... I mean you probably didn't hear about it because I went under the name of Mike Honcho. But I just wanted you to know that. If you can hear me, if it got into your brain somehow. That I spread my buttcheeks as Mike Honcho.

+1
THANKS for your service! I merely reported on the US midshipmen in Thailand… I enjoy being American every day, but I cannot take any credit for military service… I still like to thank everyone that has been part of the greatest military to ever walk this earth!
Don’t forget to give thanks for everything that the flag stands for … America remains the symbol of greatness in this crazy world!!!

4th of July
Happy Birthday America!!! There is no country on Earth that I would rather call home!!!
On a much more somber note, R.I.P Steve McNair. He was maybe the toughest QB I ever saw play and it is a tragedy to see him gunned down. My condolences to his family and his friends.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
