Romo to be inducted in the EIU hall of fame.
I live about 15 minutes away from Eastern Illinois University. So of course this story was front page news in the sports section. And since it's Romo I thought I'd post it here. On October 17th Romo will be inducted into the EIU Hall of Fame. Here's more info for those who care to read more. Plans are set right now for him to be there when he's inducted. I'm hoping it stays that way 'cause it would be awesome if he signed autographs. I'd love for him to sign a jersey for me.

bring a camera....
he likes being in pictures. ..
carry a big paparazzi camera with a big flash thing and he’ll probably hang out around you the whole event. he loves camera’s, reporters, doing interviews, and headlines…he’ll be there
look up -- get up -- dont ever give up

actually the opposite is true
I bet Romo longs for the day when he’ll never have to see another camera or do another interview as long as he lives.
Despite what most think, obviously including yourself, Romo is on record as saying he hates the attention he receives and I for one believe him.

Why play the Tahoe event then
Hits and giggles golf against a marginal field?

marginal field???
you obviously have no clue how good some of those amateur celebrity golfers are, many have scratch handicaps.
As said a million times by myself and Romo himself, he plays in those tournaments because he helps him prepare for the upcoming season by putting himself in competitive situations.
Any time an athlete is competing, no matter what the sport, it’s helps him as a competitor for his sport.

Wow, a few scratch golfers
and Charles Barkley, Jordan, Kevin Nealon etc. It is a marginal field – not much better than a decent club championship, likely with even less depth. There are only about 12 guys with a legit chance to win. I do have a clue Terry.
He could find superior challenges without the cameras, and chooses otherwise.

simply not true
Just because there are some hacks in the field doesn’t mean those 10-12 golfers you reference aren’t really good and wouldn’t provide Romo with some great competition.
I strongly disagree he could find superior challenges this time of the year and obviously so does Romo.

Question
What would have a better field, that or the North South Amateur that is being played this week?
What about the West Texas Amateur, or the Texas mid-am? Those would be loaded with collegians.
How do you know Romo considers this to be a superior challenge? Please support your assertion with a source that is not yourself.

how do you know Romo could qualify or were invited to those tournaments?

I looked through the qualifying and didn't see him entered
As best as I can tell, he didn’t even try. http://www.txga.org/
What is your source that Romo chooses the spectacle event for the superior challenge?

Romo has been playing in this event
for the past three years so why would he choose to withdraw to try to attempt to qualify for a tournament he might not even be to qualify for? That doesn’t make any sense and neither does your assertion that the Celebrity Tournament is a spectacle event just because it’s televised nationally.
The Celebrity Tournament obviously presents Romo with plenty of competition since he’s never won it. Doesn’t it make sense to win that tournament first before moving on to better competition?
Or are all your assertions based nothing more than just hating on Romo?

I agree with Terry
it does seem like Romo is tried of the media attention and such. He’s just as apt to run into someone who says “Hey Romo, your girlfriend is a no-talent fat pig” as to ask him about playing the Redskins defense. I bet that wears down a man. But…he is quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, and he has brought some of this attention upon himself. Small price to pay for a $60 million contract…
