PrintNo, it's not a throw-back doo-wop band ... I wanted to give everyone an update on where we stand on the preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on August 21st.
If you are not sure what I'm referring to, you can check out Paul's post on the tragedy that his family has had to deal with.
BTB Bloggers have shown a generosity that makes me proud of this community. At this point, we have had one blogger step up and donate frequent flyer miles to take care of the flight and another use Marriott points to take care of the hotel room. Donations are going to a VISA gift card that will be at the check-in counter when Paul and Tammy arrive. I've given the hotel an authorization form to be used to cover room taxes and other fees that Marriott points do not cover - they tell me that should be about $50. That keeps Paul and Tammy from having to deal with any out of pocket expenses.
I'm also working on transportation to and from the airport since there is no shuttle to the hotel. I'll be sending Paul those arrangements once completed. Other than that, everything is in place.
I'm going to keep the link up through the end of Friday, in case anyone wants to contribute. That gives me enough time to get the VISA card and mail it to the hotel to be waiting for check-in. A huge thank you to those who have donated.

Oh Man.
Very tragic to what happened to his daughter. I have to say, that it is awesome what BTB is doing for Paul. I know it won’t take the pain away, but at least it can bring him a smile.

I didn't know...
I had no idea. I read BTB everday, but usually only comment once the season gets rolling. I don’t know how I missed Paul’s post…as a parent I can’t even begin to imagine…
I have always loved this blog, but I love it even more right now. What a wonderful thing to do for Paul and his wife!

I also can feel Paul’s pain as I have lost a 4-1/2 month old grandson to child abuse within the last 3yrs.
Paul, my heart and soul goes out to you buddy from someone who has sort of been in your place, keep you chin up and have faith even when it seem there is no reason too.

I do have to agree with this - I was in Reno last year when they had a BBQ festival
… and all the pretenders had NOTHING on the guys from Texas.
Having said this, I’m also addicted to Carolina BBQue w/ slaw and hot sauce, some hush-puppies and Brunswick stew. That’s Eastern Carolina at it’s finest :)

Make sure you get some good Mexican (may I suggest Tom Landry’s favorite Mia’s) and REAL Bar-b-cue, not that vinegar stuff that passes for ’cue in Carolina.

If you notice, airhorns were outlawed in the NFL and MLB and the ban extends (thankfully) to those things as well.
Crowd noise…no problem. 45,000 blowing those damn horns…unbearable.
I like the Premier league (that also outlaws the horns) where they all get drunk and sing…no idea what, but at least it’s entertaining.

Tears started coming down my face when I started to read your post.. Know this, as the Lord has said "when two or more of you gather in my name, I’ll be among you". By reading the sentiment of your friends on this post, I can tell you with confidence that He is with you and your wife right now. Lean on him, cry to him, speak with him as a child would do with his Father. I pray that The Good Lord comfort you and yours. Take comfert that you will see your little Angle someday. We are not the Cowboys Nation now… . We are all Paul’s Nation at this very trying time! God Bless you and your wife and your entire family.
