OU Roy Williams Still Stinks
I don't have HBO, but Shutdown Corner provided a brief review of the first episode of Hard Knocks with the Bengals.
I saw this paragraph though and it made me really glad we finally cut ties with Roy Williams.
I'd imagine Roy Williams is a little embarrassed this morning about his showing. He lined up against Maurice Purify in the Oklahoma drill (one running back, and one blocker going one-on-one with a defender in a confined space), and things did not work out well for Roy. Purify erased him. With his propensity to get beat deep, and his inability to even put up a fight against a rookie wide receiver blocking him, I'm having trouble figuring out what it is that Roy Williams does well.

He Looked like he was only there for the paycheck
I do not know how Roy approached training camps in the past, but before the “Oklahoma Drill” he was in the locker room saying “I don’t want to do this drill”.
Then on the field, he laughed about getting caught by Marvin Lewis working out what they were going to do in the drill with a wide receiver, (Think a Pro wrestling type choreography). I think they put a rookie on him to make it more intense instead of the planned sham. The rookie really did push him out of the running lane and out of the camera shot.
After the drill Roy laughed about it. He was on camera 4 or 5 times and every time was chillin and laughing.
Just his natural state and he turned vicious during games, or is he just in Cincy to (as a couple of veterans put it on another show) to steal one or two years salary at the end of a career?
haha
