Connections in the Cowboys psychic universe

When I was nine and my love for the Cowboys was just beginning to grow to another level, I heard that the Cowboys drafted a RB named Emmitt Smith. Not having a favorite player and needing one I decided to follow this RB from Florida. Well everyone knows how Emmitt's career turned out and I am always proud to say that I was a huge fan even before the first yard he ever gained. Well life goes on, Emmitt retires, the Cowboys go through some bad years, I get married, have a little boy, and then the Cowboys draft Felix Jones. About this time, my son begins to really notice the Cowboys and his love seems to be growing to another level. He has not watched too many games but he knows a few players already. Over the course of the off season of Felix's draft, my son begins to become more and more interested in him. Honestly I was surprised how much the boy grew to be a fan of the player at such a young age (he was only 4) and by the time the season began it was clear that my son had a favorite player. Now Felix is no Emmitt and comparisons as such are incredibly premature, but there is a coincidence brewing no doubt as Felix seems primed for a big year. All I know is that it would be something special if my son was a huge Felix fan even before he gained a single yard just like his dad was a huge Emmitt fan even before he gained a single yard.  Best of luck this year to Felix, and heres to hoping my son and I can start a family tradition.

Cheers to you

Hope that connection stays alive and well. If Felix grows into the mold of Emmitt, the Cowboys have a bright future.

And if your son grows into a devoted Cowboys fan like yourself, then you’ve done great job too!

Everything's looking up, Milhouse!

felix will have his own style...

but if he has a few good years of production in the recent future it will be fun to see my boy cheer for Jones. Jones has a very exciting style and it is very fun watching him, even better now that i got a great reason to root for him.

Felix will never be Emmitt

however, he certainly has a great chance of becoming one of the all time special backs in franchise history, no doubt about that.

yeah and that is what i mean

if his career is closer to dorsett than emmitt that would still be something

I loved Tony Dorsett

I was way more excited about watching Tony than Emmitt; nothing aginst Emmitt they were 2 different style of backs it is just my preference.

I loved fourth quarter Emmitt

He would choke the life out of the opponent.

I remember a game when they gave it to him on every single play

one series. When is the last time any player has received the rock so much?

The season begins in 3...2...
