Now, I am no football analyst or anything but this is just my own personal opinion on how to beat the Giants "great defense". Personally I don't see what there is to marvel at. I say this because all the giants have is a D-line. Can anyone please tell me what else is out there besides the D-line. Just a bunch of no namers, except for the D-Line.
Now, the Giants are a decent team, i'll give them that. But one thing you might not know is that when their D-line didn't get any pressure or generate sacks, the It looks like once people figured out a way past their defensive line, the giants weren't able to stop them. THE CLEVELAND BROWNS ran all over them with a 35 - 14 final score and not a single sack was generated during that game by the giants. Derek Anderson would end up Passing for 310 yards (his first 300+ yd game of the season) and they would run the ball for 144 yards on the Giants totaling 454 yards of total offense against them. The Eagles would total 331 total yards (not a lot) but none the less had obviously found a way past the Giants D-line since no sacks were generated or really any pressure. The Carolina Panthers would also keep the Giants from getting a sack last season, and although losing the game, generated 28 points.
So from what I see here, whenever the Giants can't get a sack, they don't get a pick either. The key that I see to beating the Giants is just finding a way past their defensive line. If the 2008 BROWNS can get 454 of total offense on them by finding a way past their defensive line, then it needs to be seen as an indicator.
The way I see it, the Giants greatest strength is in their numbers/depth. They love to just stack up talent on the Defensive line and that is what everyone always mentions when they talk about the Giants. When has anyone every said anything about their linebackers or their defensive backfield. They never receive any mention because the D-line is where all of their strength. I would love to see how the Giants would fare against the Bills this season with their No-huddle offense which would not allow them to to their trademark substitutions on the D-line. If the Cowboys were able to pull off something like this and not allow them to make their substitions, thus making them play at their pace, then I smell a win on the Horizon. Some of you might not agree but I will go out on a limb in saying that the key to beating the Giants defense is getting by their defensive line because THERE IS NOTHING BEHIND IT.
