Early Games Open Thread
It's cool when Dallas is in the spotlight (for the right reasons), and this week the Cowboys square-off with the Giants in the Sunday night game, with the whole nation watching. Plus, Romo seems to shine in prime time. But...it means we have to wait all day to watch our beloved Cowboys. Never fear, we can all hang out and pass the day watching the rest of the NFL battle it out in the early games (and the late games) and commenting in this open thread.
Some reading material to pass the time.
LA Times reviews Cowboys Stadium.
Short preview from a Jersey paper.
Big Blue View with a last-minute view.
FOX Sports preview of all the games today.
This is an Open Thread for the day games.

It's not TOO long from now. Just eight or so hours...
I can’t wait for the game, anyways. Getting all jumpy about it, though. We all know the Giants are gonna send everything our O-line can handle and then some at them. I think I’ll be happier when it’s over and we’ve won than I am when it begins. It’s exciting, but a little scary.
Cowboys, please blow the Giants out of the new stadium. Amen.

today has not been kind to me in FF so far
I’m going up against Chris Johnson and starting Lendale White and Adrian Peterson in one league.
In another league, I benched Matt Schaub in favor of Jason Campbell. I guess that’s what I get for having that Redskin on my team. I just accepted a trade for him a few minutes ago.
Woodson had a pick six.

They are still good, but people who think that they were going to be like the 2007 version are dead wrong. These pats are very beatable.

I don't know about that
I’ve seen Brady miss at least 3 tds in these first two games. THey still have all the weapons and a really good oline, Bradys just been off.
I'm With The Immortal Iron Fist
They’re very good, but not like 16-0 good. My guess is they’ll win 10 or 11 games this year.
Seymor and Mayo are big losses
their D is young and won’t be as dominant, and right now Brady is being outplayed by a rookie in his second start lol
....
So you don’t think they have a chance to go 16-0?
by The Immortal Iron Fist AKA AFB on Sep 20, 2009 1:56 PM CDT up reply actions
Pats don't look good
although give the jets D some credit – Revis is a great cb hes total shutting down moss. WIth Welker out, they’re relying on edelman who…while good, is no welker.
New Orleans at philly's 11
may be about to take a 2 score lead
at this rate
Brees is gonna destroy Peyton’s td mark. Seriously. If he stays healthy, hes practically a lock to at least lead the league with this amazing start
I'm actually afraid for the Boys when we play NO
The Saints are eating Philly alive.
How Bout Them Cowboys!
Thats so far away
I’m not very concerned. THeres a good chance things will change by then If we were playing them next week i’d be very concerned, cause they are just lighting it up
Sanchez
has looked GOOD so far these first 2 games….whats with these rookie qbs doing well latey? Stafford isn’t doing awful either.
if the boys win tonight....
looks like they’ll be the only undefeated team in the nfc east!

Eagles. But then again, the Eagles usually stink early in the season. Still, it’s sweet.
still a lot of time left in the philly game
and the Saints defense is BAD…its not over yet.
but if it even smells like an implosion in Philly, it leaves me grinning ear to ear

Redskins Win
I don’t like them hanging around. I fear they will be dangerous by season’s end. I predicted they will be better than Philly by late season if Campbell doesn’t get benched.
Why?
I asked this to squidlo too, but what exactly has Washington done to make you think that?

Picked up Haynesworth... showed potential early last year ... and...
… NAH … forget it ! They’ve got Dan Snyder, they suck!
Doomsday returns... Wade Phillips style.
nothing really
but I predicted the same. I thought cambell was going to make strides this year, and had heard good things about their second year wrs. And Haynesworth makes a considerable difference. I actually predicted them to contend for the division title, but i feel kinda stupid about that the way cambell has sucked the first two weeks.
Yeah...
I understand BEFORE the year. I talked with Aaron the other day, and we were both talking about how much we like Campbell, but they haven’t shown me anything.
I definitly wouldn’t predict they’ll be better than the Eagles at the end of the year.

Listen I really feel your pain here. Last night I couldn’t sleep either, but tossing one side to the other, you get to spinning around in bed there’s no point to being there, so if you can’t lay still and rest the body w/o any REM sleep, you might as well get up and exercise. Or hey, read a book that you’ve been meaning to read forever, works everytime for me, 2 pages, I’m dead to the world!

I think my estimate
of 800 yards for TO may’ve been a little much…
i dont think he will
and if he does, other players won’t nearly have the respect for him that he had here, so its not even gonna matter. I’m not sure their offense would be any different without TO.
He's already started!
T.O. said Trent Edwards needed to use He and Evens more and he need to throw it down field more; Then he said that wasn’t the reason they lost; but still that dude will never stop being a manipulating ass; that is how he starts locker room descension. Wonder if Lee Evens asked him to speak for him?
Why am I talking about this guy?
good games right now
Tampa only down 6 after that horrid start(though i doubt either of these teams will be relevant for the playoff hunt).Chicago and Pitt is a great game. And I think the NFC West will come down to seattle and SF, so thats a pretty big one.
and i completely forgot
that Baltimore-San Diego was even going on
Hasselbeck is hurt on attempt to dive for a TD
He has a hx. of back surgery, this may change the picture in the West if Seneca Wallace has to go for a while; Who knows maybe it would turn out to be a good thing, the dude has been a back up there forever, he has to have showed them something.
wow
without hassleback, that team isn’t gonna win many games. Wllace really has never looked too good to me.
The funny thing is, in the nfc west, you can actually afford to go a month without your starting to qb,
Why did Taylor not dive for that?
should’ve been an INT
Big loss for GB
They may be a team the Boys are fighting against at the end of the year.
