Giants at Cowboys...

Wow...BRUTAL loss...

However...

Star-divide

Some of the talk in the threads is amazing....yes it was a crap loss in a game we should have won....but its also week 2! Hard to say the season is over at 1-1.

Here's what I saw tonight...

O-line-These guys just looked outstanding. Romo had all the time in the world. Running lanes for the backs were HUGE! They really are playing at a very high level. Hud's done his work and it shows.

RB's- Barber, Felix & Choice were rocking the house! I simply don't understand why they didn't get even more work...NY couldn't contain them...maybe there was something to that idea of becoming a running team...(Garrett...there's still time)

TE's- Witten was Witten and Bennet looked good...no surprises there.

WR's- Well they hardly touched the ball, but RW made a great effort again, his run blocking is good, and he fights for the extra yards, Austin, Hurd and Crayton looked solid in brief appearances around the football.

QB- Ummmmm...Tony? Please man...this HAS TO STOP! You're killing us! I've been a huge supporter of Romo, but there's nothing to defend after that one. He needs to reel in the turnovers, or we're in for a long season.

Defense- I'm going to kind of lump this all together. I think it's all interconnected too much to separate players out individually, however, props to Ratliff who was his normal awesome self! He did have a good game. The D played very well overall against the run, so we'll just leave that alone. The pass D though was beyond disappointing, and I think more than it being the case of "our secondary sucks" that is being spewed all over the threads, the heart of the problem in my mind is the pass rush. Where is it? Isn't this the defense that lead the league in sacks last year? Eli looked far too comfortable in the pocket the majority of the night. This led to the issues (outside of some missed tackles...Scandrick anyone?) in coverage as much as anything I saw. CB's & S's can only cover for so long....even Primetime would've had issues tonight. Where are the creative blitzes? Where is the chaos we've come to expect from Wade's 34? Why am I seeing only 4 guys rushing on most of the passing plays? Color me confused on this point...Bring back the pressure and our secondary will look MUCH better....Last time we played NY Eli was sacked 8 times. 8!!!!! Where's that approach Wade? We need it back in a bad way! Explain to me how the team that had 59 sacks last year has a big fat 0 two weeks in. Bring back the blitz Wade and I guarantee we'll see some improvement.

Special teams- If not for Felix's fumble, they would've had their second impressive outing. Coach Joe has done exactly what he was brought here to do! This is the one unit that has shown much improvement over last year so far. Well done sir!

Coaching- Wade....please see comments under "Defense". PLEASE....Mr. Fix it....blitz it and fix it...thank you. Garrett, when your QB is struggling and your running game is dominating...just a thought...but run more. And when you have to pass (it does happen) dial in the easy stuff, screens(where were they?), comebacks, crossing routes to your 2 bad ass TE's, not the deep ball....you could've helped a bunch tonight...3 and outs of all rushing would've been much better than constant turnovers...maybe the D could've even caught their breath.

In short:

Running game on both sides-excellent! Romo? Come on...stop with the turnover parade...please! Coaches? Stick with what's working...we should've won this game...and you might even stay employed past the New Year.

Just the thoughts of a die hard Cowboys fan who expects more than what he got tonight...
