Don't be so quick to wash your hands of Romo

I was on the DMN and so many people dismayed by the Giants game are trash talking Romo. "Romo's a joke with the ball," "Trade him," "Don't let him throw," "I'd take Quincy Carter now," (shame on you if the writer of that is reading this!) the list goes on and on.

Please take this moment to reflect and remind yourselves who was at the QB position between Aikman and Romo.

Quincy Carter

Chad Hutchinson

Ryan Leaf

Drew Bledsoe

Just to name a few. Four nothing players who gave little to no hopes of playoff runs. Romo has two playoff appearances; more than those four guys combined when wearing a Cowboys uniform.

Romo has about 40 career starts under his belt. 17 of those have been for at least 300 passing yards. Bum quarterbacks don't do that.

Was he reckless tonight? Yes. That could be something we'll have to take from him, just as we have to take Flo getting flagged often.

Romo has worked on protecting the ball. He showed us that last week. He is getting better.

So please: enough with this "bring on Quincy" nonsense. Have a little faith in Romo.
