OT - Bachelor Party in Austin

Hey Guys.. I had a quick question for you regarding a bachelor party in Austin.  I'm originally from Dallas. but never spent much time in Austin.  Moved up to New Jersey about 18 years ago (not my choice), and now me and 11 other guys are flying down to Austin for a buddies bachelor party.  Most of us are flying in on Thursday, October 15th and staying till Sunday.

Was wondering if you guys had suggestions to make this a party to remember.  Looking for Bars, Strip clubs, food, or other attractions/fun things to do.  I know that we will be there the weekend of UT/OKLA although will be played in Dallas.  Will the campus and surrounding areas still be crazy??

I appreciate you responses in this matter as I love the information I get from this website and all its constituents.

Thanks in advance.

Jared

[EDIT]: I'll leave this post up for example purposes, but please, when doing off-topic posts like these where you want to talk to the community on a non-football matter, please use the FanShots.

Thanks,

Dave

What's so bad about Jersey?

I mean, for you to note “not my choice?”

Just out of curiosity, what county in NJ?

I'm from Jersey...

I’m 100% sure I could go to “Baby Dolls” or whatever and not get beat up.

Does this post have ANYTHING to do with

Football or the
Dallas Cowboys or the
NFL

Does it belong in this forum?

Sorry if I crossed a line

Have seen similar post on here. Figured it would be a good way to find out.

Yeah, it's not football related

but he clearly identified in the title and in the post that it was off topic. Not trying to be an ass, but you don’t have to look at it.

Will do..

Just trying to get a grasp on the area. Everyone says its a great time, but thought local people could give some great ideas outsiders dont know about.

In the future, posts like this...

should be posted in the FanShots forum, not the FanPosts. OT things always go in the FanShots.

Thanks,
Dave

Going to 6th Street is a given.

Tons of bars and entertainment in a few block area. Only an occasional bum to step over. The UT girls hang out there.
Chuy’s on Barton Springs in an Austin original for dinner. Might want to visit the Drag on Guadalupe in front of UT.

Other interesting places like the drive on Loop 360 or even out to the Oasis to see the shrunken lake.

Have fun in Austin but don’t get stuck on the roof of your hotel!

As an Austinite....

Here’s what I would suggest.

Best Strip Clubs:
     Yellow Rose
     Sugars
     Palazio

Bars:
Go to 6th. (depending on how old your group is, 25 and below, E 6th, older crowd W 6th) Both areas have a bunch of bars all in walking range. I personally work at The Tiniest Bar In Texas, 817 W 5th, so swing by there :D
There will be plenty of action all over the place and there are more bars in Austin than just about any other town but I would assume you want to do as little driving as possible.

Yea, sixrings is right that Chuy’s is good. For some other good Mexican, I like Polvos, Maudies on Lake Austin. The Oasis is cool, but the Lake is so low, it’s almost not worth driving all the way out there(though we’ve been getting a lot of rain lately). Some good pizza is Mangia, Rounders, East Side Pies, Austin’s Pizza is ok if you want delivered.

Anyhow, enjoy your time in my beloved town. I’m sure you will. There’s lots of beautiful women and too much fun stuff to do. If you come by Tiny Bar, just ask for Connor and I’ll make you some shots. Go Cowboys!!!!

Is it possible to lock threads here?

If so, I’m pretty sure this is an absolute must.

At least have some respect

If you dont want to read it, then dont click on it. But don’t go around acting like a smart alec just because you dont think it should be here.
