ESPN's Trent Dilfer rates NFL QBs
Terry will LOVE the description, but ... Romo at #10???
KNOCKING AT THE DOOR
Quarterbacks with immense talent and potential who haven't won anything of significance yet. Playoff success will launch them into a higher category.
1. Tony Romo, Dallas
Analysis: Quickest release in the NFL … unparalleled ability to throw from multiple foot platforms, both intermediately and down the field … as artistic as any quarterback in the league, instinctively using all available resources (eye placement, shoulder nods, pump fakes, arm angles, you name it) … can make something out of nothing on a consistent basis … sometimes careless with the football, both in the pocket and through the air … limited big-game success.

I originally balked at the idea that he would rank Romo behind Hasselback and Warner
But then I read the descriptions of the types of qb’s and realized that going by his descriptions, Romo couldn’t have been rated any higher. That’s alright, when we get our first playoff win this year, it will silence a lot of critics of Romo’s game.

How many are in this category?
Quarterbacks with immense talent and potential who haven’t won anything of significance yet
I didn’t link to the article. I can’t imagine there are too many guys with talent like his that haven’t tasted some success yet.

The only other one of note was Carson Palmer.
The others were all young guys, Cutler, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Joe Flacco.
Am I the only one that thinks Drew Brees is overrated?

Maybe as a winner
As QBs go…he’s a stud. He’s like a mini-Manning (the good one).

Description was dead on
however he’s a superstar in this league, no question about it.

Yea, I knew you'd like that description...
And Romo deserves the accolades. It comes down to DC’s opening comment: just win in January and the critics will be silenced. It’s a marathon of a year … Romo’s proven he can run with the best of ’em … we all need to enjoy the ride … but ultimately the only thing that matters is getting a few playoff wins.
Doomsday returns... Wade Phillips style.

When I see Dilfer on TV, he seems to be a bit of a Romo Fanboy, always pulling for him
He is not in Terry’s class, but then again neither is Romo’s mom
