Not really an Airman anymore but the Mist is talking tonite.
When did I become a Cowboy fan? When my mom told me I was.
Too hard to scroll to the bottom when there are 800 of them.
When did I become a Cowboy fan? When my mom told me I was.
Announcing for the Vikings is brutal
I thought that last year on NFL Network that they would switch the announcing team at halftime to the other team. I wish they would do that for this game, because Mayock is a great talent analyst but an awful color guy on the game broadcast. The play by play guy is not great either. For such a boring game, it would be great listening to some guys with talent.
Camera crew leaves something to be desired too. Camera is all over the place
oh wait, I’m just tipsy.
When did I become a Cowboy fan? When my mom told me I was.
Maybe he hit his head or something. I hope this Watkins stays, but it is against the Vikes scrubs.

How's Ogletree?
Has anyone heard an injury status?

Watkins knocks off DeAngelo Smith?
Though I doubt we’ll have trouble sneaking either Cincy guy onto the PS.
It’s against scrubs. But Rosenfels has been a starting QB in the league.
We should be able to keep Mickens

Buehler
It is great to have a reliable kick off guy now, I was tired of watching the other team get great starting field position so easily. Everytime we score, it seems we hand the other team an easy touchdown, and their starting field position was a big contributor to that.

Very smart move by Mr.. 4th & Long.
Agreed
But he isn’t even doing anything in the CFL… I don’t understand that.
Wasn't Octavien that guy that blocked that punt last year for a safety?

At analysis of talent for teams and the draft
But for announcing, he is not. He makes more mistakes that Pat Summerall did, that is saying something.
I loved Summerall with Madden
That was the classic duo, but he made plenty of errors that had me talking at the TV on Sundays.

Those two pickups made me content for the defensive situation as far as the starters go.
Oh yeah
You are right on that one, Canty was solid but not spectacular like I though he had a chance to be. Igor is a step up IMO.

Pass Interference was an impossible call on that play
Defensive Holding maybe, but PI can only happen when the pass is in the air, and that ball was uncatchable.

U never know.
These coaches have hung onto Stanback purely from potential. If Ogletree takes #5 spot, #6 goes to potential cuz they’d be inactive anyways most week.

But I can see a case for keeping him at #6 and playing him on all the special teams. Looks to me like he’s got that heart and enthusiasm that can balance out some negatives.

That Dorsett play is why I'm a Cowboys fan.

Classic. No one will run one from scrimmage farther.
That’s why I compared Felix to him the other day. The ability to make that cut at full speed rather than downshifting. That’s often the difference in a 6 yarder and a 96 yarder

ooooo

Kramer: Really? What's she in for?

Jerry: George is dating a convict.

4th and Long Gone....
What a great way to end a dream… You know Holley has virtually no chance of making the roster, and many think this is his last shot at the NFL, but how many of you guys were yelling your heads off when he picked up that punt and took it to the house… I am not ashamed to say that I was.
Did you see the Cowboys along the sideline cheering him on????
Holley has got to be feeling 10 feet tall tonight bringing home the winning touchdown.
It’s a shame it will most likely end for him tomorrow.
Jessie we wish you well and admire your efforts.
Garrett needs to get a clue!
at least now he has a trophy
if i was him i would keep take that football and keep that on my mantle and tell everyone that came to my house
Don't Panic!!!
Man, we were yelling
our heads off when he broke free.
I think that is about the best way he could have ended his NFL dream., short of making the team.
and a stick of dynamite couldn’t have gotten that ball away from me after scoring…
It looks like there were alot of guys out there playing hard and having fun tonight.
If they do that during the season, wow!
that which doesn't kill you, probably hurts like hell.
It's exactly what they said on the Irvin show today
At this point, you have to take the ball – even if it isn’t for you. Stanback heard “Peter” and instead of following the instinct pounded into all of us since flag football, he grabbed the ball and displayed some serious athleticism. I won’t be surprised if somebody picks him up – if only for the practice squad.

Buehler
My sense is I’ll get flamed for this, but here goes:
Shouldnt a 2nd kicker on the roster be reserved for guys who bang it through the back of the endzone 9 times out of 10 rather than once in a blue moon? i know guys on here are pretty stoked about him, and he’s been the focus of one or more articles on here about how much he is helping ST, but man I must have bad luck, because i’m not sure i’ve seen him even put one in the endzone at all … just sayin’
he's put a few in the endzone
but to me what makes him worth keeping is his speed and ability to make a tackle giving us a little better coverage
Don't Panic!!!
Ugh, is there any way we can banish the phrase 'just sayin' from the American lexicon.

Next Time
..it’s for real. I can’t believe it’s here!
Am I alone in thinking Rudy Carpenter will become a viable backup?
I know it was vs. the bottom of the Minn roster, but he hasn’t gotten many reps and he was also playing with the bottom of the roster.
I have to say he looked pretty good. Very natural.
Watkins has 9 lives.
C.Brown and D.Smith looked horrible! Even Mickens made some nice plays, but those two might as well be cut.
McQ also needs to go away. Let Free play swing tackle until the Cowboys sign a FA after week 1.
If this was Stanback’s last shot, he failed badly. I’d keep Ogletree and Manny Johnson over him.

Wish I could’ve caught the whole thing… late night last night.. lol
Superbowl, or BUST.
I like Butler
But he cannot play the run at all. Plus he isn’t very good in coverage. It will take him some time.
Still, he’s a good tackler and ST guy (plus he’s not injured), and is fast off the corner when he got the chance to pin back his ears and rush the QB (although he ran himself out of a few plays by doing that)
