I have to disagree with the prior fanpost about running up the score. I didn't want to argue, I wanted to state my side, so I made a new thread. Here's how I see it....
And this goes for any game, but especially the professional level. Can anyone answer me this question: What is Brett Favre's job? What is Sidney Rice's job? Incase you forgot, their job is scoring touchdowns.
And, as apparently the Dallas defense forgot yesterday, their job is to stop Bret Favre from scoring touchdowns. They didn't do it. I'm as bummed about this loss as anyone. I had little doubt in my mind that we'd beat the Vikings. But we lost because the Minnesota defensive line absolutely, totally, and in all other ways out played our offensive line. Flo wimped out, and the rest just couldn't handle it. You can't blame Romo or the receivers, we don't know what they could have done, because 90% of the time Romo dropped back he had not just one, but Multiple guys in his grill immediately.
This game was about either really good d-line play on their part, or really crappy o-line play on our part. It was not about Brett Favre (whom I hate, by the way) throwing an extra score or two.
Oh, and the arguments comparing the situation to the Pats or McGwire? C'mon. Those two situations broke the rules. The rules say you can't tape you opponents practices/ signals. The rules say you can't take HGH. Is there a rule that says Brett Favre can't throw TDs? Maybe if there was he'd retire for good. Until then, the Minnesota offense was just doing there job....score touchdowns.
