I was looking up the Cowboys playoff records when it clicked. 1960 was year 1. Thus 2009 was definitely the Cowboys 50th season.
Am I missing something? I can't understand how Jerry, the master of promotion, would not have made a big deal of the team's 50th year. Especially given the 50th year is the first year in Jerry-world. 50 seems a pretty significant milestone, yet no mention by the team or by the mediots. I did search BTB and two fanposts picked it up before the season started, so the blog continues to be ahead of the game.
I guess they were waiting till 50 full years were in the books, so presume all the 50th year stuff is coming out during this offseason. Looking forward to it.
So whats your favourite moment of the past 50 years? For me - becoming a fan in 1983 (so i missed the best of the Landry years) my favourite moment (so far) isn't even a Super Bowl - it was the 1992 Conference Final in SF. To my mind that was game the '90s boys truly "arrived" and you got a sense this team was going to be special.
Thanks Cowboys for a great 50 first 50 years - looking forward to the next 50.
