Play calling question

I would have liked to see Garrett stay with the running game longer than he did.  After the score was 17-3, the Cowboys went one dimensional and were out of it quickly.  We were running well.  Why not stay with it at least until the Vikings scored another touchdown.  I felt like we could have scored on one of those possessions by keeping hammering the ball.  And the running game wears down the defense.   Would the Vikings have been able to bring the kind of pressure they did if they were tired from stopping the run?  When Garrett went to the shotgun, the adrenaline kicked in for the Viking D, and they came non-stop (think sharks smelling blood in the water).

So, the question...am I alone in feeling this way, that we should have stayed with the hammering runs for another couple of possessions at least, or was Garrett right in switching to the gun?  Did anyone else have this feeling?
