And the BTB Fantasy Football Champions are...

...Quincyyyyy and kill everbody! Congratulations to you both!

It has been a knockdown-dragout season for all who participated in the Blogging The Boys and Blogging The Boys Part Deux fantasy football leagues on Fleaflicker. Thanks to all the team owners for another year of fun and hardcore competition!

In the BTB league, Quincyyyyy defeated Doomsday Redux 111.5 to 91.25. As expected, the Cowboys played a vital role in his winning the championship. Tony Romo netted 18.2 points, Miles Austin chipped in with 10.9, and by shutting out the Redskins, the Cowboys D/ST scored 20.

Doomsday's team was led by Adrian Peterson's 23.7 points and Jason Witten earned him 11.7. Unfortunately, Aaron Rodgers was held a bit in check by Seattle and scored just under 16.

Make the jump.

A big BTB hat tip goes out to scottmaui for your help in running the Part Deux league.

Now that the 2009 fantasy season is over, we can focus our full attention on some Cowboys football. But before we get too serious, who has the hotter cheerleaders...the Cowboys or the Eagles?

Go Cowboys!

Whooo hooo

won the consolt bracket! At least my team showed up late!

But next year, its on. Didn’t I read someone say we should go to Yahoo next year?

by what_the_crap on Jan 2, 2010 1:46 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Really? I was in a yahoo league this year and didn't really like it.

Plus, Fleaflicker has been a sponsor of BTB. Dunno about next year’s platform yet.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I dont care

either way. At first I didnt like Fleaflicker, but I got used to it. If they sponsor BTB, keep it as is.

by what_the_crap on Jan 2, 2010 2:24 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

What platforms have you used?

This year, I used:

ESPN for 3 leagues
Fleaflicker for this one
Yahoo for my family’s league
and RT Sports

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

by Aaron Novinger on Jan 2, 2010 2:27 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I

only use Yahoo to be honest. Fleaflicker is the first one that I’ve been in that wasn’t Yahoo.

Not cause of preference or anything, the main leagues I’m in are setup in yahoo.

by what_the_crap on Jan 2, 2010 2:30 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

wow

I’ve only been playing for about 4-5 years now, so I never had do that.

by what_the_crap on Jan 2, 2010 2:46 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Me too.

I remember calling the commish leaving him a voicemail that I wanted to put Richie Cunningham in for whoever the Eagles kicker was at the time. He didn’t get the message and it cost me the game. If I remember right, that game cost me a playoff spot. Don’t miss a whole lot about those days. (Except the draft. Never a sober moment.)

by illcowboy on Jan 2, 2010 8:55 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

what do you mean by sponser?

because yahoo defn links to BTB

Idk how you can not like yahoo but like Fleaflicker oh well…

What the French?! Toast!

by thebigham on Jan 2, 2010 2:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Really, I don't know how that works.

I just follow orders.

Personally, I prefer the ESPN platform. I’ve been on that one for years and it’s just more user friendly to me. I guess if I ran my own league in Yahoo! and tinkered around with it more, I would like it better.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

by Aaron Novinger on Jan 2, 2010 2:11 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

so

you dont like yahoo because of the scoring system?

Just talking plain interface I would say Yahoo takes all three but thats just me.

We should defn vote next year. Not to mention when i missed the draft Fleaflickers auto rank/pick system BLEW! I ended up with THREE qbs and not a one was a starter or higher than top #30

What the French?! Toast!

by thebigham on Jan 2, 2010 2:15 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I guess I am just used to ESPN.

I am in 3 leagues there, so it is convenient for me to flip around my diff leagues. The one that I manage allows me to put up videos and pics on the league homepage, so I have fun doing that.

And, I’m not a big fan of scoring tenths of points either. I like the simplicity of whole numbers…a .5 is okay.

Also, I find ESPN’s waiver wire and lineup changes much more user-friendly than yahoos.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

by Aaron Novinger on Jan 2, 2010 2:25 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i guess its whatever you get use to at first

but i HATE fleaflicker.. just everything you do from scoring to managing your roster.

What the French?! Toast!

this is something to think about for next year

and something we discussed a bit in the league forum…

i had a league on yahoo this year, and overall i like the interface better than FF, the roster management and especially the live scoring. But there’s some basic simple things I actually like better about FF, like seeing an opponent’s rankings by mousing over, or clicking on a player and getting their scoring history. Also I didn’t like the WW/FA system on yahoo, but I assume that should be customizable by the commish. Overall I’d say I prefer yahoo. But if FF is a sponsor of BTB, that definitely carries some weight, and the platform works well enough.

I like the fact that Quincyyyyy's team consisted of almost 40% Cowboys

 and he won it!
Aaron can you post the winning rosters?

you guys should pick rosters from you teams for Week 17 and then score them ourselves tomorrow and see who wins. which of you can navigate the pitfalls of wk 17 the best with your rosters?

I had 3 other fantasy teams,

all on Yahoo… My all Cowboys team is palying in the 7th place consolation game…

My other two… with rosters similar to my 2nd place BTB team are 1st and 5th in their leagues… so little difference can make a large change in the standings…

Any given Sunday, you can never bet the farm on any team… just hoping the Cowboys are still in it in February!!!

Played in a 20 team Fox league this year...

Championship! (4 championships in 6 years now) but the Fox platform was horrible…don’t ever use it. Seriously.

Next season I’ll be looking to break into the BTB leagues or find a league where the owners need to put up an entry fee of around $50-$100 for a prize fund. Tired of “playing poker on the free sites” so to speak.

If anybody knows a good money fantasy league, let me know.

I agree

12 teams max.,even that dilutes the talent pool drastically.

by CounterEMF on Jan 2, 2010 6:48 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yep, the draft goes deeeep into rosters.

You’re only going to get 1 maybe 2 studs in the draft but the key (and the fun part) is how you work the waver wires once the season starts. Gotta stay on top of injuries, backups, bye weeks and personnel moves.

You should give it a shot one season.

We had a 15 team league two years ago

and it sucked. Your stud gets injured or have a bad draft and you are done.
