Offense is still leaving points on the field
As fantastic as Sunday's game was, the good news is that Dallas has yet to really reach it's potential.
I'd say the defense is pretty much there with the back-to-back shutouts. That's due a lot to great special teams play that backed Philly up on every possession. It's also due to great ball possession by the offense. And the defense can bring the pressure without having to blitz, which keeps opposing O-coordinators guessing.
But the offense is still short when it comes to turning yards into points. If 100 yards is worth 7 points, then we should have scored 35 yesterday.
I expect for that to start clicking at some point here in the postseason. It would be really nice that, instead of 24 points being our norm, that something north of 30 points becomes our offensive norm. Because if we get there, no one is going to outscore us the way our D is playing.

Very true.
Dallas ranks 2nd in total yardage but only 14th in points averaging about 22 ppg.
~Texas Massacre '09~
That isn't the reason though.
The lack of points stems more from penalties, missed fgs, and short yardage situations coming up well… short.

but having a "#1" WR who contributes nothing does not help either

+ we've had a couple turnovers.
Barber, Red zone miscommunication with Romo and Austin in Denver, the recent one against Philly…
Everyone thinks the Cowboys are peaking and thats not true
The defense is peaking but not the offense, with great players like Romo, Jones, MB3, Witten and Austin, the offense should be averaging 30 points per game and I think as they play deep into the playoffs, they will.
In Romo we Trust
They need to "peak" this Saturday night...
…or there won’t be any “deep into the playoffs” sceneario.

The NFC East has won 11 Super Bowls; oddly none of those have come courtesy of the Eagles.
we've left points on the field all year
a lot of the time, it seems avoidable. I feel like we can definitely limit red zone turnovers which seem to bother us, but we can’t do anything about the kicker.
Who knows. Every superbowl champion seems to magically turn around or improve some area which looked questionable before. The Colts defense turned into a championship unit. The Giants Dline stepped up their play and their offense cut down completely on turnovers. The steelers line actually stepped up last year at times.
Offensively, we are far from perfect. If this unit can avoid that crucial turnover which seems to chance the game (sometimes), we can put good number of points on the board.
watch other teams
when u can point out one that is executing perfectly on both sides of the ball, then I will listen to this argument.
you are nitpicking, and as fans we are allowed to do so- but looking for the holy grail of a team THAT dominant… well, give me an example.
in a league where 20 points a week pretty much guarantees victory, I think you all ask for way too much.

Hmmm, good point but the Boys are leaving points on the field weekly.
It should have been 5 scores but Suisham misses a 30 yarder. The turnover was a tipped ball drill that we lost so that could have also resulted in points. I believe this team as stated above has yet to play a great offensive game, start to finish (though the NO game was sweet in parts). With our D, maybe 14-17 gets you the win but 35 does cut down on the Rolaids considerably.
I don't think this is a nitpicking post.
I mean he’s right, they are leaving points on the field.
But it wasn’t negative, more just saying that there is still upside on the horizon.
