I think we only have Buehler and the 4 LB's left now

Gosselin has been saying
’09 Draft class may be worst in NFL history. DAL certainly doing its part.
We live life forwards and understand it backwards
And there I was hoping that Brewster would at least be an option at guard
I’d given up on him as a tackle some time ago.

Yep
Brian Broaddus per ESPNDallas during camp:
Offensive tackle Sam Young has outplayed Robert Brewster so far in camp and this doesn’t surprise me at all given Young’s college background. [For Brewster] a move inside to guard might be in the works.

I'm kind of surprised
They could have cut him before the season. Great job managing the OL. He should have never been moved to Tackle. The guy would’ve had a better chance at Guard, I think.

this is really quite surprising
considering some of the utter dross that has accrued vested veteran status while littering the OLine depth charts the past few years (mcquistan, proctor, berger, al johnson, hell even tyson walter). i’m really hard pressed to believe there aren’t other behind the scenes issues that factored into this (i.e character issues) simply more than the staff realizing he can’t play, considering that he was admittedly drafted as a project, is still only in his 2nd year, and #71 still has a roster spot despite his demonstrated level of play.
Oh my God
12 picks in that draft. 4 cut, 1 on IR forever, Phillips on IR, Brandon and Jason Williams complete non-factors, Manny Johnson practice squad, Buehler on his way to get cut and McGee still unkown. WOW

this is just
a horrible draft class. I guess they are rethinking that they should have traded up instead of down. 5 cut (Mickens, Johnson, Hamlin, Smith, Brewster) 1 on PUP (Hodge), 1 inactive each week (after being on IR last year) (Williams)
Only time will tell for Butler, Buehler and McGee.
Phillips is the only gem of this horrible class and he currently sits on IR!
Not horrible at all
Jerry said he traded down to get value and that is true. He doesn’t have to pay their salaries anymore.

Actually I usually don't
But every time a cut comes up it gets here first.

I know
not many people do come to this section, but I found it unusual that this fanshot already has 19 comments and counting.

Are Hits Counted?
Or is it only guaged by the number of comments?
I read them every day and my comments are pretty rare.

I wouldn't be surprised...
to see Brewster reappear on the Practice Squad if he clears waivers.
Rabid and luvin' it
Brewster was the 75th pick of the 2009 draft
Brandon Tate, WR/KR went at #83
Mike Wallace, WR went at #84
Ladarius Webb, CB went at #88

This starts to become an indictment of Tom Ciskowski
Looking back at the 2007-2010 drafts, people have to question who we took and why, given our obvious needs on the OL and at safety. Even the picks we liked might need to be re-examined. Would you take Spencer over Ben Grubbs, Joe Staley and Lamar Woodley? we did.
Not one of those picks from the Jerry-Cisky drafts would crack the top 5 players on the team (Ware, Witten, Austin, Romo, Ratliff) who were all acquired during the Tuna era. The talent we have acquired since Tuna left has not been enough to propel this team to the next level.

very true Blings
and things are shaping up for a big shakeup this offseason. I need the true draftniks to tell me if there were any stud Lineman drafted after the 75th pick last year. I see a few talents at other positions that could have freed us up to draft linemen in other places. Obviously its all hindsight as the guy drafted the pick before Brewster retired from football (Coffee).

"Yeah, he's good. Dez Bryant is smooth, fast and has velcro hands.... He's going to give his QBs a giant comfort zone; if you throw it in his vicinity, odds are very good that he'll catch it."- Rafeal Vela, 1st day of 2010 training camp.
Andre Caldwell was right after Brewster
But he’s not really a stud, and he’s playing in a ZBS, I didn’t see any that stood out, but I only looked at it for 5 minutes.

please stop con that tuna stuff
he drafted bobby carpenter, stanback and fasano just to mention a few
I agree that the scouting has to do better.
You can’t have a draft like 2008 (a draft that picked two known-at-the-time backups – Felix and Marty- in the first three picks) and then just follow it up with a whiff in 2009. That is an not a great average. I still hold hope for 2010 (Dez, Lee, and Akwasi give me hope), but I really have to wonder what they think about their O-line template. The one guy they drafted with decent feet (Free) turned out well but they keep drafting stone-footed lineman. Is the causation of that trend really hard to see?

Our highest paid OL Davis is severly FLAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our Safties aint worth JACK!!!!!!& thz team seem so stupid at times that it gives me head aches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dallas just win thz darn game!!!!!!!!!!
Got a little exclamation point happy did you? I kind of agree...especially when I see how New England always has a crap ton of trades...
There is an artcle for someone to write…How the many teams draft well, how many choices they get and how they utilize their current “stock” to gain more ground. I bet the Cowboys would be middle to bottom of that list.
Even a turd in the bowl can occasionally score a goal...
I have to Agree
The Cowboys management is giving the appearance that they don’t know what they are doing.
They try to patch a need with the most (2nd?) penalized player in the NFL in Barron. Then that player comes into a game and gives the worst performance that I can remember any Cowboys player give AND he single handedly costs them a game with a brutally stupid penalty. The Cowboys coaches then seem to excuse his play and keep him on the team. BUT they waive a project OL? Not to mention their handling of their need at FS by not doing anything during the offseason to address it.
What are the Cowboys doing? They are looking foolish right now… and I’m not even refering to their poor play.
You're right
Cowboys management doesn’t have a clue what they are doing at all. I hope Jerry and his giant sized ego are happy with this mess he created. I said this during the past draft on the ESPN board they needed to address their lousy OL and that they needed to trade up even if meant giving up extra picks. I wanted Iupati or Pouncey but i said we needed to at least draft two OL last year Jerry thinks Sam Young is a NFL player please he’ll be cut next year if he ever makes it that far.
