Is your glass half empty or half full?

Where do I start? I love this website and enjoy reading all the different viewpoints. As a Cowboys fan, every season feels like a roller coaster. Each game has so many ups and downs. I think that is why football is the greatest sport and why each of us are on this blog. It is also the reason we as Cowboys' fans are pulling our hair out right now (for those that have hair). I believe most of us feel like "our" team has let us down. Were our expectations too high? Are the Cowboys not good enough? Is it the coaching? Players? Is Tony Romo overrated?

One thing I can tell you is that stats are overrated! Only 5% of teams starting 1-4 have made the playoffs. I can guarantee that every player and coach on the team doesn't give two craps about that stat. They are going to go out and play hard. And hopefully play smarter! The only stat that matters is your record. And we can only play one game each week, so I expect the negative attitudes and feelings to continue until the Cowboys start winning games.

I just know that as bad as things are....things could be worse. We have very few injuries. We have 5 divisional games left. We have a Thanksgiving game that will give the team a mini-bye week with 10 days between games. We are only 2 games out in the loss column. As fans it is hard to be patient. Especially with high expectations and low results so far.

Call me a optimist, pollyanna or crackpot, but my glass is half full. We win this week, Redskins lose to Bears and Philly loses to Titans. We are then only 1 game back in loss column to Giants and Eagles. 1/2 game back in win column with the Skins. There are too many games left in the season to be thinking about next year's draft class or who should be traded or what coach should be fired / hired.

As fans we need to stick with our team till they are mathematically eliminated at the minimum. Doesn't mean we don't get pissed at the players, coaches or owner at times. But I think as Cowboy fans we owe it to the players on the team to be loyal to them as they are representing their fans the best they can. It is sort of like having a kid playing on a bad team. You still cheer for them even if your kid or the team isn't winning. Don't know who made the comment on this blog, but the only good thing about the Cowboys losing is that we lose all the bandwagon fans. I couldn't agree more.

Is your glass half empty or half full? Either way....drink up because this roller coaster of a season still has a lot of ups!!
