What to do with Stephen Hodge...

8

"Former TCU linebacker Stephen Hodge is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list today. The Cowboys will have until Nov. 8 to call him up, and, once they do, they will have three weeks for him to practice. After that, they have a decision to make -- release him, place him on injured reserve, or add him to the 53-player roster. If they decide to keep him, who do they cut? If they cut him, would he make it to the Practice Squad...and who would get released from there to make room? Would it be better to just IR him at this point, even though we're getting desperate for a nickel LB that can actually cover? Could he realistically be expected to contribute at all this season after missing so much time? My money is on IR at this point. And if Jason Williams doesn't pull his head out by the end of the season, Hodge may be pushing to be his replacement next off season.
