Lots of negativity abound and for good reason. This team is an utter failure in every aspect of the game. This is compounded by the fact that the team has great talent. This last point is obviously debatable, but certainly this team is better than 1-5, or is the Tuna's statement "you are what your record says you are" a reality?
Either way, talk about letting the season go is ridiculous for several reasons. Number one teams can rebound. If you don't believe, just look at what Tennesse did last year. Many would argue that we have more talent than that team.
Additionally, looking past this season prematurely will result in a prolonged wait as the 2011 season is in jeopardy. There is reason to believe it will never be played at all. This in fact is one of the main reasons Jerry wont fire Wade at this point.
The cowboys can rally back into contention. Although extremely difficult, they are still in the mix dare I say at 1-5. We are at most 3 games back in the loss column and have games left with all of the division teams, so to some degree we can still control our own destiny. If you factor in the head to head games, that deficit is only 2 games hinging on cowboy wins of course.
9-7 or even 8-8 might win this division given the backdrop of substandard football being played in the NFC.
With salary cap, the league has lost its luster, with very few teams truly out of contention. If ever there was a year for a good comeback, this is it.
