The same 11 defensive starters from Week 1? Really?
This one line from www.dallasnews.com sums up the entire season for me:
"The Cowboys have allowed 121 points in the last 12 quarters. Do you realize the defense started the Packers game with the same 11 players who started the opener?"
The thing that baffles me the most when I say people should be benched is, "you got a better option?". It truly doesn't make sense to continue to start a guy that doesn't/isn't playing well. Players like Alan Ball, Gerald Sensabaugh, Mike Jenkins, Orlando Scandrick, Bradie James, Keith Brooking, Anthony Spencer, Marcus Spears, anyone on the offensive line but Doug Free, Jason Witten...have all played horribly this season. Who cares if their backups give up a play when the so called "veterans" are playing horribly? It just doesn't make sense when you have guys on the bottom of the roster who will give 110% effort in hopes of making a play.
I bet I could pick any guy out of the stands and offer him the league minimum and he'd play his heart out. Yet, for these guys in the stands, these league veterans give minimum effort.
When Mike Jenkins blatantly chose not to make an attempt of a tackle on a guy at the goal line, I would have calmly called him over to me and said "head to the locker room, I don’t want to see you again for the rest of the night" and immediately inserted Jesse Holley/Kevin Ogletree/Barry Church/Bryan McCann/Sam Hurd or anyone else that wants to play football. Regardless if it's their position or not, these guys know the game of football. It makes no sense to allow that type of attitude to be displayed on the field. It's one thing to be whipped up and down the field even though you're try but to visibly give up and take games (not plays) off, it's disheartening as well as humiliating.
The offensive line play is atrocious. At what point do you realize that the guys who are starting aren't giving a lick of effort? Leonard "Bigg" Davis met Clay Matthews at the Line of Scrimmage and politely moved to the side so he could get a free hit on the QB. And Marc Columbo didn't given any effort to stop Matthews either. His foot work is so bad that it's amazing he doesn't fall over after making contact with a defender. Gurode doesn't seem to call any protection calls before the ball is snapped. I believe it's to the point where you actually start Robert Brewster at RT, Sam Young at RG, Phil Costra at C and Montrae Holland at LG. At least they can grow together as a team over the last eight games. What's even more amazing is to fathom Tony Romo not getting sacked 4 out of the first 6 games. How good did he make the offensive line look?
At 1-7, the season is lost totally. It's time to start getting the younger guys some game experience. If they mess up, just blame it on their in-experience.

Alan Ball and Scandrick should have been cut a couple of weeks ago! Scandrick has been giving up touchdowns for the past 4 games! Kenny Britt, Sims-Walker, Hakeem Knicks, Steve Smith all used and abused him…. Does Alan Ball even have one interception this year? Haven’t heard his name called at all and all I see is him on the sideline trying to explain himself! These guys are bums, time to go!
