Earlier in the week, BTB warned that the revenge we seek against Donovan McNabb may have to wait. Word has come in from various news outlets that Donovan McNabb has been benched in favor of Rex Grossman for this Sunday's game at Jerry World.
Kelli Johnson, of CSN Washington brought the news first via twitter:
Now, this has not been confirmed as of yet by any member of the Washington front office, however Jason Reid of the Washington Post has a heated reaction from McNabb's agent. Via the Redskins Insider:Just learned that Rex Grossman is starting over McNabb Sun in Dallas; I'm told Redskins Lockeroom is divided and guys are extremely upset
"Disrespectful is probably not strong enough of a word," Fletcher N. Smith, McNabb's representative, said in a lengthy phone interview Friday. "Donovan has handled himself with nothing but class, not just in Washington but as an ambassador for the league. To treat him this way ... it's beyond disrespectful."
Players inside the lockerroom are reportedly very upset. Remember, Kyle Shanahan just last night said that Grossman was not getting extra work to prepare for the start. Mike Jones, of TBD.com reported as much here:
There’s no difference this week than last week, so there’s nothing really to talk about," Shanahan said. "We’ve prepared this week the same as we did last week."
Shanahan said that contrary to reports, backup Rex Grossman hasn’t received an increased workload in practice over the course of the last two weeks as preparation to take McNabb's job.
"No. It's the same as always," Shanahan said of Grossman's reps in practice.
Fantasy Football owners of the Cowboys defense everywhere just did a Triple Lindy with the prospects of Sexy Rexy lining up behind center.
