My Life is now Complete
Our daughter works at a fine-dining restaurant in downtown Indy frequented by sports stars/celebrities because of the large suites upstairs for private dining. She usually doesn't work weekend evenings, but did last night due to several private functions.
Around 8 she texted me, 'Troy Aikman is here.' We live downtown as well, so in moments my wife and I are sitting at the bar in the main dining room. We're friendly with the owner and staff because we go there often, even before our daughter worked there, so they were all providing us updates on the progress of the meal - a party of 12 or so from the Fox broadcast crew.
We wound up catching Troy, Joe Buck and the group as they left. Troy was very gracious and accommodating - taking pics with both my wife and I, chatting for a few minutes. That Pic is now proudly displayed on my Profile - probably the only thing that could replace St. Roger!. Doubt he'll take us up on our offer of dinner tonight, but a story for the ages for any die-hard Cowboy fanatic...

Got yourself one helluva memory there, tdships
Good one. Got to shake the hand that helped get us 3. Lucky bugger. ;
Though I’m with OCC on the Joe Buck bit and would’ve chipped in on bail even if it meant only one game without him there. ;
It's why you play the game.
Right up there with meeting Tom Landry at the SF Marriott
Actually when I opened the door, Buck stood there with a look along the lines of, ‘Well?’ I said, ‘I need to speak with your friend.’ To his credit, he smiled and stepped aside. Now if they came over for dinner, I’d have a few hings to say…
We live life forwards and understand it backwards
Envy you those 2 meets alright
Too funny, the “I need to speak with your friend”. KIller.

You should have
spit on Joe Buck’s shoes…after he was outside so it wouldn’t hurt his business.

Good for you.
Pretty cool experience. You did right. I wouldn’t let Joe Buck’s presence ruin my experience either.
That is awesome
That is a complete 180* from when I saw him at the HOF. He didn’t even want to turn and face the crowd.
Congrats!
You did right
A great moment with Troy would have been spoiled if you bi*ch slapped that moron Buck. Worse yet Troy may have thought badly of you for doing it. Don’t know why, but why risk it. Congrat TD.
Figure all fans agree, in reality
Nice that you’d inject the reality and thanks for it. You’re right. I figure the comments are just top-of-the-head venting at Joe’s, ummm.., “unbiased expertise and insight”. Know mine was. ;
