No franchise tag for Miles Austin

I don't like this move, we are risking losing miles, and if we do lose him we are officially screwed.

If we lose Miles Austin I will be absolutely furious. I don’t think Parcells would think twice about trading a first and a third for him.

Parcells is the only reason we didn’t cut him from the final 53 man roster in 2006. Miles Austin showed nothing that year in training camp, but Parcells put him on the 53 man roster for whatever reason. Parcells had a hard on for this guy, even before he broke out.

we don't have to franchise Austin because he's a RFA

All we have to do is tender him the highest tender which is a 1st and a 3rd which will keep most teams away and even if they did tender him to a contract, we have the right to match it so fans shouldn’t get their panties all up in a bunch, there’s no way Jerry will let Austin go.
