S.D. Union Tribune: Cowboys Not Interested in Antonio Cromartie
-- from the San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee:
One source said the [Chargers] talked with the Dallas Cowboys recently about a deal involving Cowboys running back Tashard Choice, though it was not known whether there were any other components involved in a potential deal. The Cowboys were not interested.

for Cromartie??
I’d do that in 2 seconds. You can always find a RB. You gotta maximize your talent, now…

two questions
which Cromartie do you think you’re getting? He hasn’t been the same CB the last two years.
Plus, Wade was in S.D. for Cromartie’s rookie year in ’06. He knows a little bit about this guy.

Cromartie is overrated
Choice is a very good back with a great heart and tremendous attitude, I’m glad the Cowboys aren’t interested, that would be a bad trade for us.
In Romo we Trust
Still would've done that deal....
several teams in the league have shown, especially us that you can find good RBs in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Too bad we couldn’t of unloaded MB3 on them instead, but his contract is too outrageous for anyone.

Cromartie also had 10 INTs his rookie year under Wade if im not mistaken...I think if anything Wade knows he is a very good CB..
Especially when he was coaching the defense….you could say Cromartie tailed off without Wade, but then again the whole defense did after Wade left….

the Chargers have been shopping him for a year
given the demand for CBs, you think they would have found ONE team willing to deal for him in that time?
Why not? Because good CBs cost a fortune and he hasn’t been a good CB since ‘07. He’s entering his contract year and he’s gonna want to be paid like a blue chipper.
See Hall, D’Angelo, for evidence of what can happen in these circumstances.
Look at the NFP. People who have watched tape on him do not have a high opinion of his play the last two years. He’s trying to live off that monster ’07.

Cromatie did not start under Wade, BTW
his big year was in ‘07, Wade’s first year here.

You just said above Cromartie played under Wade in 06...which is it?
Plus, Wade was in S.D. for Cromartie’s rookie year in ’06. He knows a little bit about this guy.
I love Choice and dont want to see him go, but I would have no problem with a player for player trade either. Good RB’s can be had in the 3rd and 4th rounds as we have shown. There is going to come a time very soon when a decision will have to be made on keeping Choice or MB3 because of their contracts. Choice has trade value, MB3 doesn’t. Believe me and I think most agree, I would much rather part ways with MB3 than Choice right now, but his contract is the problem.

Uh, look at what you quoted
It says Cromartie was in S.D. during Wade’s last year there. That means Wade saw him practice, knows something of his character, work habits and upside.
Where did I say he played well for Wade? He didn’t start in ’06.

Charger fans seem to have a negative view of the guy....
From reading the sample of Charger fan comments after the article, they do not feel Cromartie is worth much. Since they see him every week, it makes me wonder why I see so many comments on this site that praise him. I hope the boys don’t trade any player who’s been a consistent producer for him. I get the feeling he’s not a mature or tough player just based on the sample comments.
there must be some bad scouting reports on cromatie
conventional NFL wisdom says you take even a marginally good CB for your 3rd string runner. Makes me feel good about two things, Tashard Choice and our CBs. Glad they said no
