Around SBN: Penn State Recruiting Roundup Is Set For A Big Junior Day

free agents

there are many notable players that are likely on the move, i would like to look at the ones that make sense for the boys to pick up or trade for.

Star-divide

Terrell Owens- haha no NO

Ladainian Tomlinson- dont think so with our three headed monster in the backfield even if barber or choice gets traded NO

Brian Westbrook- see above NO

Julius Peppers- i would probably stay away he is going to want a monster contract and i think hes starting to go on the decline and hell want a long term deal and i dont want to sign him untill hes 36. ill pass NO

Darren Sharper- yes, the first one that makes sense. I think it would be a great sign, getting us a ball hawking safety that we can sign to a two year deal, then draft a safety and give him time to grow and learn from sharper. i think it would be a great sign and it would really make us a huge threat to the saints or vikings. YES

Randy Moss- im on the bubble with this one, he looks to be losing his touch a little, and i can already see him and tony having some issues, so NO

Brandon Marshall- unlike moss, i think marshall is on the rise and will only get better, i think hes a top 5 receiver and it would be a dream to have him lined up across from miles austin.  YES

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3rd overall pick- yes, i would happily give up our first and second round pick to get eric berry, in my opinion the best player in the draft. YES

i like ken lucas as a backup CB

no reason to waste a draft pick on that, we just need a reliable replacement

Marshall and Moss are not FA. We would have to trade for both of them. Moving up from 27 to 3 is very unlikely. We would have to sell out this draft and next years. Tampa Bay may want to trade but their not going to drop out of the top 10.

i would take marshall if we didnt have to give up a first round and if they took RW

I would pay them to take RW

Agree.

They’re almost all old and the one who isn’t is an idiot.

Would you really be complaining if we got Marshall?

Seems unlikely but anything that means less Roy is good.

If We Trade With Tampa Bay

. . . they will give us their starting LT and they will use their pick to take the best LT in the draft.

I would be happy with getting Penn from them. He’d be better then any OT that we would be able to get at 27. They have the 3rd pick and could take Okung.

I think Westbrook has something left.

He hasn’t had near the carries LT has had but he there’s no room for him in Dallas. A good fit might be the Vikings if Taylor leaves and childress has the eagles connection.

He's Been Injured Too Much

The last few years. Last year he sat out with a concussion. He’s on his last legs, sadly.

Westbrook is done.

Injuries have caught up to him. I think he will either announce his retirement or try to catch on with another team, get injured in pre-season or early in the season, and then announce his retirement. He had a good run, but it’s over.

Ready for some baseball.

Brandon Marshal, no way

no more malcontents, no more knuckleheads

You think we could get the 3rd pick int he draft for our 1st and 2nd this year???

HA! That would be highway robbery. That pick is worth at least 2 of our first rounders and probably 2 second rounders as well. Think about it, we are picking towards the end of the draft and should be next year too.

Actually, the Draft Value Chart says it would take 2 first rounders and 3 second rounders!

Pick #3 – 2200 points
=====
Pick #27 – 680 points x 2 = 990 points
Pick #59 – 310 points x 3 = 310 points
TOTAL = 2290 points

Oops, you beat me to it.

Antrel Rolle, anyone

To me, that’s the only free agent that makes sense. Rolle is a FS who will be 28 next season. Sharper will be 35! Do you really want to sign a guy who will be 35 at a position where speed is a top requirement?

Just Say No to Old Man Sharper. He played spectacular last season, but he will lose it very quickly at this point. Even the Super Bowl Champs didnt want to resign him and he’s their best defensive player.

I’m not so sure Tampa will be interested in bending over and trading the 3rd overall pick for the 27th and 59th overall, but that’s just me.
