Looks like Phillips will be the full time H-Back next season!
Adios, Cricket. You’ll be missed. Kinda.
No weapons charges had been filed by late Tuesday, police said. Anderson was later released from jail.

Dumb
Why wouldn’t you pay your traffic tickets Cricket? Not like you can’t afford to.
For a player who is easily replaced, this is not what he needed.

+1
I can’t see how football players can be that irresponsible… I mean, do they think they’re above the law since they make all that money?
FEAR the STAR.

I think these guys live in mostly tunnel vision
he probably just didn’t pay a speeding ticket on time

It's probably not really a big deal at all
and by the time the next season rolls around (FA, combine, draft etc) no one will even remember this. But for a part-time vet who may be already in discussion by the powers that be as a position that could be upgraded, it’s not real smart.
You guys have never just forgotten about a traffic ticket? I have.

Irresponsible, but pretty easy to see how this could happen.

One or two maybe
But it sounds like there were more then that. Anyway for a fringe player its very dumb. Frankly I think we can do a lot better at FB. I like the guy, but now that I see what Polite has become in Miami it ticks me off we don’t have better.
So long, Cricket
John Phillips was already phasing him out, this might seal it.

Also, let's not bypass the point
that police were called to the restaurant in the first place because he, apparently, was acting up. It’s not like he was pulled over for speeding when the unpaid tickets warrants were discovered.
Jimmy Johnson would have his bags packed and waiting for him
JJ was great. He gave the stars leeway because they worked hard. Somebody like cricket wouldn’t get a 2nd chance.
Only if there are weapons charges
is this a big deal.

really?
i’ve visited Dallas on three occasions. it’s very easy to get in trouble with the law down there.
let’s wait until this shakes out to make judgements on his character

Really
I have been going to Dallas all my life, and I know it is easy to stay out of trouble if you pay your traffic tickets (or don’t get them in the first place) and if you aren’t careless with your firearms and don’t hassle restaurant staff to the point the police are called in.
Keep doing what you been doing, keep getting what you been getting.
except your assuming a lot of variables and details that you have no clue about

no, Oskie is correct
It’s really easy to stay out of trouble if you are a responsible person, only stupid people end up in hot water.
In Romo we Trust
the ridiculous statements on this thread are growing by the minute
it is flat out stupid to assume anything about this scenario without more details.
the idea that only stupid people end up in hot water is an opinion based in overreaction and lack of thought. irresponsible I can agree with, stupid is… stupid.
The fact that police didn’t arrest him for distrubing the peace, or anything related to the restaurant incident, or the guns, tells me it probably wasn’t a big enough deal to assault his character. When police are called for a disturbance, they HAVE to run a check for warrants. His warrant was because of unpaid parking tickets, which in the grand scheme of things is just not an offense that you judge someone’s character off of.

It's just too easy
to stay off the police blotter for this jerk to get a pass on this. Anderson is apparently one of these spoiled jocks who thinks rules don’t apply to him — anytime, anywhere.
Cut him.
Keep doing what you been doing, keep getting what you been getting.
Doesn't the fact that you have to use the word "apparently"
prove that your position comes with a good amount of assumptions.
I am all for law and order, but it is ridiculous that from one incident that we barely have any details about that we can determine a guy is a “jerk” or a “tool.”

You assume
he is blameless. I assume, based on the facts presented so far, that he is at minimum a jerk for not having the sense to stay off the police blotter.
Outstanding warrant for unpaid traffic tickets = fact.
Dispute with restaurant staff resulted in police being called = fact.
Two firearms confiscated at the scene = fact.
Unflattering publicity that reflects badly on the team = fact.
He may beat the rap, but he has already demonstrated he is irresponsible.
Adios, Cricket.
Keep doing what you been doing, keep getting what you been getting.
So everyone on the police blotter is a jerk?
Really? That is how simplistic you are in breaking a person down? If you want to live that way that is your prerogative, but I refuse to be so comfortable judging from the outside like that based off ONE incident.
And at no time did I say he was blameless. All I said was that your position is based off a lot of assumptions. Personally, I don’t think Deon is blameless. Whatever happened, I am sure he could have handled himself better. At the same time though, one incident does not define a person and for you to call him a jerk is kind of ridiculous based off an incident whose details are vague at best.

anyone that is a TRUE Cowboys fan wouldn’t put that pic on their avatar. Not trying to cause problems just curious because it seems you only post negative things. If I’m incorrect, my apologies.

CUT THIS TOOL
He’s not worth the roster spot.
There are 20 guys who won’t get drafted who can throw their bodies at a LB in the hole to spring the tailback just as well as he can.
I’ve never liked this guy and want to see a FB who has the ability to consistently catch the ball (with his hands no less) in the flat and convert a 3rd and 6.

Uh-oh
Not taking care of your tickets is one thing, pulling a gun (allegedly) means he is done for.

Anderson was supposed to be a ST Ace
But he never lived up to his potential there either. Good riddance.
