Saints now America's team, Steelers fans sulk
Unlike most professional sports nicknames, the title of America's Team is up for grabs. It resided in Dallas for the period of time of 1970 to 2008, but with the Steelers winning their unprecedented 6th Super Bowl last year, they became the reigning America's Team.
However, with the Saints not only having gone to the Super Bowl, but winning it, they now take the title from the Steelers. Reports have one Steelers fan responding, "Saints suck, so do the Cowboys, and the Pirates." Seemingly their distress over losing the America's Team title has them so distraught that they are unaware of where they are spitting their venom.
The Saints garnered much national sympathy when they the Louisiana coastline was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. It should be noted that with the uncertain NFL future due to the looming lockout, that Haiti may be granted a franchise in the United Football League. If the Haitian's front office can build a competitive team, they are the favorites to strip the Saints of the nickname.

Keep in mind this is a joke.
Everyone wants to take the title from the Cowboys and it almost doesn’t matter who the team is, Saints, Steelers, heck, a little league team from Colorado.
So instead of having to explain this 15 times, read it with this in mind.
yeah
you probably needed a disclaimer in the post itself

Once you have to explain something is a satire....
well, the whole system goes to pot.
yeah
that was basically my point

Haha yeah I understood it was satirical.
I tried to convey that with my question mark.
RW is the opposite of WR. Coincidence? I think not.

No one seems to understand
The title “America’s Team” comes from the fact that they have the biggest fan base in the country and sell the most NFL merchandise. The title comes from the numbers only. That title can’t be transferred to anyone until they beat those numbers, which they never will.
We all know it originated with NFL films...
and their noticing of Cowboys fans at games across the country. I will throw out that the terrible towel is very noticable and with a few Steelers fans taking the towel to the game and waving it around like they have uncontrollable Parkinsons, it gives the illusion that there are more Steelers fans at away games.
I paused an HD feed of the crowd once, and I counted maybe 8 terrible towels waving in a section of 1000. I wouldn’t say that is a large percentage, though I don’t recall which team the Steelers were playing against.
Ha ha ha
“uncontrollable Parkinsons” … made my day.

The America's Team handle
has been more of a nuisance than a blessing. Most non-Dallas fans don’t know the origins of it, and I am tired of explaining it.
im fighting the good fight on facebook right now

I get so tired of this crap
The Dallas Cowboys were labeled “America’s Team” in the 60’s. Period. In the 90’s the Bills and Steelers said they were, now every freaking team that wins the SB think they’re America’s Team.
Garbage. It’s a tagline just like 12th man is in Seattle (I believe it’s Seattle). Now let’s move on to the next topic.
Greetings from the Humungus, the Ruler of the Wasteland, the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-A. I laugh at your puny plans.
Dallas got the name "America's Team"
in 1978 after they won the SB over Denver. NFL films gave them the name. Seattle got the term 12th man from Texas A&M.
Texas A&M successfully sued the Seahawks
for infringing on A&M’s copyright

But we can win it back right?
Why watch football without the moniker that inevitably leads millions to hate me?
(/sarcasm)

here's what I posted on Facebook that seemed to shut everyone up
That’s like walking up to someone you’ve known your whole life and saying to them ‘you don’t deserve your nickname anymore, I’m gonna go ahead and start using it’
Ummmm, wat? Where they do that at?

I'm not worried about 'America's Team' moniker
When ever I’m anywhere and talk about the Cowboys, people say “oh you’re a fan of America’s Team”
