Free agents are expected to be visiting Valley Ranch soon - so it seems. It's time to interpret Jerry Jones.
"We will be active, but I'm anticipating some value and opportunity that is not necessarily there right now - can be there but if the process hasn't let us get there," Jones said. "Now, if that doesn't show, that'll limit what I do."
ESPN's interpretation:
"But Jones told reporters from Cowboys Stadium on Tuesday that some morning meetings might have solidified some things.
The Cowboys are going to start bringing in free agents for visits, but when remains unclear. "The DMN's interpretation:
"Jones said he has a sense of what the club will be able to do in free agency and said the team is ready to start scheduling visits."

Nothing is correct
But “nothing” is all ESPN needs for a story
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
I think he just likes headlines
He knows if he gets in front of a BSPN camera and speaks in tongues they’ll interpret it as having an agreement in place with TO and Bill Cowher replacing Wade during halftime of the 3rd game of the season
That is all
ESPN needs. You’re their source now. The Cowher headline is coming in 3…2…1
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
I don’t think it is so much that as it is him understanding that the media will eat up what he says no matter how vague it is.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Sensabaugh
I’d let him go for a second…in a second
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
There is a report on PFT now saying there are 6 teams interested in Sensabaugh..
"Austin made the play, Austin saved the day" Brad Sham
I would take a second for him for sure.
I especially would do that when we could then fix his position with a guy like Atogwe and then use that second rounder to get a better prospect at another position of need whether it be DE/DT, WR, or OL.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Here's the list I put up yesterday.
You will have to scratch a few names off, but it’s a start.

I'm sticking with NT Ian Scott and FB Jeremi Johnson if they're still around.

I have some interesting news on the RFA status for Atogwe..
Found this on rotoworld.com and followed the link…If the ‘9ers did get Atogwe it wouldnt be absolutely horrible, as most of the mocks have them taking one of the top FS’s in the draft..Help possibly slide ET down..But anyways..the info..
—But this is also why I’ll hedge my bets on Rams safety Oshiomogho (O.J.) Atogwe. I don’t know if the 49ers are interested in him. My inclination is that even if they are willing to pay him a nice chunk of money to sign him away from the Rams, they might wait a long while to go after him.
Here’s the thumbnail version of what’s happening: Right now, the Rams own the right of first refusal with no compensation required. Teams have until April 15 to sign restricted free agents to an offer sheet. The Rams tendered Atogwe at the lowest level. If no team signs him to an offer sheet, the pressure turns to the Rams. If St. Louis doesn’t sign him to a long-term deal, trade his rights or give him a one-year, guaranteed contract of about $7 million, they’d lose all rights to him on June 1.
That’s when he would, in essence, become an unrestricted free agent. He could sign with whichever team at whatever price and the Rams would have no ability to match the deal to retain him. The 49ers – or any team – could sign him to an offer sheet before April 15, but they’d run the risk of the Rams matching the contract.
I'd love to get Johnson
clear upgrade over Anderson
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
What about Jimmy Wilkerson, DE from Tampa Bay?
He’s 29 yo, 6 ft 2 and 270 but he put up decent sack and tackle numbers last year. I wonder if wouldnt mind coming off the bench in the nickle for the next 3-4 years? Might stop progress of Bowen/Hathcher though.
Rackers is a FA???
Shouldn’t we be all over him?
Any interest in Corey Ivy (DE-Balt) if Spears gets dealt?
I like your Ian Scott idea.
If Brad Pitt is playing Beane who do you want playing you?
JD: Eddie Guardado.

thanx Aaron..
thats what i meant..names of who the cowboys might bring in..not just all the available FAs….does any off of that list seem like a sensabaugh kinda signing?..I mean i see some Names, Ty Law,etc…but not too familiar with anyone other than chester pitts…he’s been the Texans most consistant OL they’ve had..which isnt saying a whole lot..hahaha..

Yeah, I can see Pitts being brought in for them to check out his knee.

Kicker?
Is there a FA Kicker that can make one from 40 yds. on in? That seems to be our most glaring weakness that could be fixed with a free agent.
Nate Newton: "Remember this-there's the Cowboys, and then there's the rest."
in that case...
…I’ll take him when he turns 55
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
Mike Brown?
The oft-injured safety had a pretty good year for the Chiefs.
Can play both FS and SS. I’m proposing this if, and only if, Gerald Sensabaugh gets signed by one of the six teams his agent claims is willing to give up a second to get him.
So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
Yeah...
…that’s not a bad idea as a backup plan for Sensi leaving. He’s better as a SS in my opinion, but he also is more likely to get hurt from that position.

How about Neil Rackers?
That would be a huge signing if we could pull that off. Other than him I don’t really see anyone that I’d really like to have unless there is a good backup offensive lineman available. I’ll be honest I don’t know how good many of the free agent o lineman are though.
Jerry probably doesn't want to spend big money on a kicker
and Rackers has the resume to warrant a nice contract.
In Romo we Trust
he also has some high profile chokes on his resume

I wouldn't rule it out with the way our kicking game shaped out last year
We missed so many easy field goals and Jerry knows we have to get much better in that area next year if we want to be a superbowl contender. Maybe they have their eyes on someone in the draft, but IMO it would be much more beneficial to pay extra for a proven kicker rather than take a risk on a rookie. I’m assuming Buehler will only be used on kickoffs and I don’t see him being the answer for field goals.
They hired Boniol as a kicking coach just to see if
they can get Buehler’s FG issues resolved. They may be waiting to see what happens there before committing to a more expensive option in FA…
FREE THE OGLETREE!!!
Yeah I remember reading something like that
Just seems as if we’re pushing it trying to turn Buehler into something he isn’t. If he ends up working out great, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to have another kicker to push Buehler or to win the job outright. And Rackers seems like a much better option than Matt Stover due to leg strength and age.
Jimmy Kennedy DT
He would be a good backup NT for Rat. Buffalo is reportedly interested in him.
Otogwe would be an upgrade at FS, but probably a really expensive one.
to make the jump to the next level, Odrick said today he needs to work on one area. "Just being more violent overall,'' Odrick said. "Play the game and play it right, violently.''
