My "realistic" Mock
So I see all the mocks and most of the time you say "No way SoandSo is there that late", because everyone wants to get that "super bargain 1st round talent in the 3rd round", I'm trying something diffrent...
According to most mock's and sites I've seen all these guys should be available at those spots and the trade would get done in a second based on the trade value chart (probably would get some extras next draft like a 4th or 5th).
Round Pick - Player - Position - CBSrnk - Draftek
1st.- 27 Nate Allen FS 48 - 48
2nd.- 59 John Jerry G/T 83 - 61
3rd.- 90 trade down for 4th102 and 5th 130 (Cleveland we've traded often lately with them)
4th.- 102 Linval Joseph DL 130 - 166
4th.- 122 Marshall Newhouse G/T 163 - 182
5th.- 130 Myron Lewis CB 179 - 165
6th.- 186 Danny Batten LB 225 - NR
7th.- 218 Kyle Williams WR/RS 267 - 271
You may consider these guys "reaches" at those spots, but that is the what me worry part they will all be there when we pick, fit our "profile" and fill our "needs", so what if we could have gotten "better value" by trading down and picking them later.
Please let me know what you think, especially which guys you'd take instead that are very likely to be there.

its the first time i'm the first
feels weird haha
i really liked your mock minus john jerry in the second, for some reason i don’t like jerry, maybe i would take him in the third
John Jerry
Is a massive road grader like we use and really showed well in the senior bowl, he’s definitly a guy we should be interested in, I like him almost as much as Iupati.
As priority FA´s
Erik Cook / Kevin Matthews C
Vincent Rey / Prince Hall ILB
AJ Wallace / Rafael Priest CB
Rendrick Taylor / William Rose FB
Kelton Tindal / Donald Jones WR
Joe Joseph / Aleric Mullins DT
Mitch Unrein / Erik Lorig DE
Josh Pinkard / Shann Schillinger FS
Eryk Anders / Tim Knicky OLB
James Williams OT
LaMarcus Coker / Toney Baker RB
Stevie Brown / Dorian Porch SS
AJ Wallace is garbage
He has stiff hips, no recovery speed, next to no awareness, and awful ball skills. (Maybe I’m just sour after seeing him get torched a lot over the years :))

I wouldn't waste a draft pick on him
But he is a great athlete which is why I’d get him as a FA and see if we can coach him up.
It would be nice to get Priest and Matthews as FA's
In fact, I wouldn’t mind taking either of them in the 6th or 7th rd.
to make the jump to the next level, Odrick said today he needs to work on one area. "Just being more violent overall,'' Odrick said. "Play the game and play it right, violently.''

To be honest
I wasn’t sure how I would like it after you picked Allen in the first (maybe a bit of a reach in my opinion), but honestly I loved the back end of the draft. I really like Jerry and Newhouse as offensive linemen, although they both are similar players (one would probably be a guard, one would become a RT). I also am a fan of picking up Linval Joseph since I love his strength and size as a run-stuffing NT. As for your last three rounds, I would be very happy to get Myron Lewis and Kyle Williams, but I am not so sure about Danny Batten. I would personally rather use that pick to bring in another body to challenge at a position in which I think they have a chance of sticking (i.e. secondary and line play).
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
for ILB
Mike McClaughlin (sp)… he is 240+ pounds classic overachiever

I like Jerry and Newhouse too.
With Free and Brewster, they’d be set at Oline next year and beyond.

I think he's in the Erik Walden mold...
Texas vs. the Nation, Wednesday: South Dakota State’s Danny Batten played inside and outside linebacker this week and might have sealed a draft spot with his ability to handle anything thrown his way. – Chad Reuter, The SportsXchange, NFLDraftScout.com
hmmm
Nate Allen is a 2nd round grade FS according to most y reach for him?
The Cowboys are at 27 so trading 4 or 5 spots would make since. Teams will JJ their 6th or 7th round picks and we might turn them into gold
He would not be available at 59
which is why I have him here, like I said this is a “99% sure” they are there draft and traiding out of the first isn’t as easy (you can’t just trade them for a 6th or 7th), so I took the guy which we probably would take if we traded down 10-15 spots…
Allen is a reach at 27
If you gonna reach, it would have to be for a playmaker. Allen is solid and steady, but not a playmaker.
No, but you have to replace Ken Hamlin...
And that guy was the head of the backfield calling the coverages and possible changes.
That’s what Allen used to do in Florida, so his head is readier for such a role.
Viva México! Go Cowboys!
After watching highlights of Kyle Williams
he is officially my new player I hope we draft in the later rounds. His skill set is very similar to a Desean Jackson type player. I love his shiftiness and straight line speed.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
I would call this a "worst case" mock instead of a "realistic" mock
because there will be a better player available in almost every round than the guy you’ve picked. I understand what you are trying to do, but just as every mock people say “so and so wont be available” every year someone that was supposed to go in the top 15 is available at #27. Not all the guys we’ve targeted here can go before 27.
Worst Case
I like the positions you’ve targeted, but I sure hope if Dallas gets Nate Allen it’s because they’ve traded down w/ someone like the Rams, Browns or Redskins who wanted to get Colt. I would be really pleased if they got two quality linemen in the first four rounds along w/ a safety.
Agreed
I would LOVE for this to be a repeat of the Losman/Quinn trades, but I really think it’s doubtful since Colt is not seen as a high pick that fell, he’s supposed to be there.
It's certainly possible
As there are several teams in need for a QB and if he’s supposed to go early in the 2nd, the late first is about the right time to target the guy. And with Tebow’s strong Pro Day today, I wouldnt be surprised if someone looks at him in the late first. After those two guys, there is a pretty steed drop off to get to Pike, Skelton, Brown, etc.
All I've seen
Is Tebow and Colt as late 2nd grades, of course they’ll go in the early 2nd since it’s more often the teams picking early that are looking for a QB (Minny might be the exception).
This is what I'm looking for
Which guys at those spots do you see “99% sure” available at those spots which you consider would be a better choice?
As much as I like Allen, I don't like the idea of giving up that much value at #27
I would rather take a player like Pouncy (ranked #32 by both CBS & Drafttek) who’s been referred to as the best C prospect to come out in several years. He has the size to fit in the ’Boys power blocking scheme, and would immediately replace the weakest like on the 53-man roster: Corey Proctor.
You could then go after a player like CB Chris Cook from Virginia (ranked #62 & #65, respectively) at pick #59. He had an impressive performance in Sr Bowl practices, had the 2nd fastest 40 time of any CB there (4.46), and with his 6’2", 212 lb frame he’s considered a potential candidate to move to FS. Beyond the prototype, he had the production (4 INTs and 10 PDs last year), was voted team capt. and could play CB in a pinch as well.
I agree
Pouncy will be there at 27, but doubt Cook will. Most of the guys I mention are a good 10+ spots ranked below were I pick them, after his workouts Cook looks like a mid 2nd to me.
Cook has been moving up lately
I would be very happy with Jerry in the 2nd. Other players I like here are OT Jared Veldheer, DE Alex Carrington, FS Morgan Burnett, CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, WR Carlton Mitchell, etc. Needless to say I see lots of potential for acquiring another valuable player at #59.
