and the "Ellis May Return to Dallas" stories start in 5, 4, 3...
Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey
I was the biggest Ellis supporter
I didn’t want us to let him go last year. I do think our pass rush suffered without him – despite Spencer’s surprisingly good performance late in the season. That said, I don’t want him back. At this point, Spencer has stepped up and is playing well in Ellis’ old role. And we have 2 youngsters who can play special teams while they develop. Bringing Ellis back means cutting one of these developmental players (maybe they turn out to be great… maybe they suck… but we don’t know) for a backup who can’t play Special Teams.
Good point about the ST
The backup LB’s have to be able to contribute there.
to make the jump to the next level, Odrick said today he needs to work on one area. "Just being more violent overall,'' Odrick said. "Play the game and play it right, violently.''
